2009/10 Snowy Range snow conditions

snow conditions

found some pretty good powder in the trees today, some of the hills you would want studs to actually get some traction. some spots like ice and 10 ft further up the hill you would hook up great. made climbing a little iffy. no parking on the rocks at the top of the hill like yesterday.

????

I played in untracked snow all day Friday-Saturday down toward Albany, but would not say the snow was great, settled and maybe 6 inches on top of that, but there is plenty of snow for base.

We rode untracked on sat. The snow was better than I expected with no new in a long time. We had a great time. There is some more untracked we left for the rest to enjoy.

We rode on Sunday and could not find anything remotely fresh:face-icon-small-fro..... probably will not be back until they get some fresh snow

rock pic

the sled came of the rock with virtually no damage. but for some dumb reason i talked him in to riding it down two up and we both bailed because the rocks at the bottom were coming up way to fast. the snow was two hard to dig into without the weight transfer. the steering post ended up with a bend in it and the hood had a crack in it. it was definatly a better outcome than if he had just let go of it on the rock. but that was still stupid of me to think it was actually going to slow down with that hardpack snow.

leaving for the snowys today 12 hour drive be there tomarrow morning riding thurs-sun we are staying at albany parking lot look for us big semi and trailor c us stop in to say hi hope the riding is good!!!!!!!!!!

We saw you in the parking lot. Just saw this post. We were going to park next to you, until we heard your generator! I didn't bring my earplugs. :D We parked on the outskirts in the corner. We did stand and watch you guys load up to leave though! Yes, that was us. . .

weather.com is forecasting a chance of snow every day for the next 6 days for Centennial. Hope they get a few good shots!
