2006 REV SUMMIT X coming from polaris ?????

Is this the one?

I am upgrading from a 2002 polaris RMK 800 151 with full slp setup. I have some questions that I would love for you experts to answer!

How is the REV going to compare power wise in stock form?

Also, do I want to get the rev 151 track? Is that a comparible track to the RMK's 151?

I stood on a 2007 blue and black rev (adr. package I believe) and it felt wide at the knees. Like it would rub me raw by the end of the day. The RMK was not noticeable at the knees. Is the 06 summit x the same? Do you guys notice this?

Do all the x packages have reverse?

What should I spend?

Will the 06 rev outperform the M8 or dragon 8?

Do you guys know of any 06 REV's for sale in the northwest?

Thanks

Cheyne

The x paxkage is the lighter version of the model year in any year doo. In 06 i think the x is another 10 0r 15 lighter. the 06 adren is 15 #'s lighter then the 05's. for reliability you want the 06. the 06 is the powertech motor with the 03, 04, 05, block and design. the 07 was redesigned and had a lot of trouble with cranks and clutching. the 06 stock is One dope Ride! I just added a can and ceramic to my 06 adreniline. works great. I bought it used from Priest Lake Powersports last year with a 2 year waranty. out the door for 8 grand. i would think you could find one for about 6 or 7 this year. the ones forsale will sell quick. the 151 track is the track to have in my mind ( as a mtn rider) climb and boon's very responsive. dont have a price on floats. havnt done that yet. Smitty has a good deal and set up for a 2 wheel kit( 253-973-9119)
I came from an 03 zx doo. love my 06. I rode cirles around my buddies xp last year.

Thanks for the comments

Do you guys think that the rev's 151 has alot more float than the RMK edge 151? I want the same amount of float so I would go with a 144 if it was comparable to the RMK's 151.

Thanks

I have an 05 Summit 151 for sale....

I live in Oregon...

Summits are by far in my opinion the best all around mtn. Package...

The only reason I am selling this sled is I have to make room for my new XP..

Contact me if you are interested.. I can also send you photos

06 adn summit:
- button secondary (its junk IMO)
- 2" lug height track
- old sponge seat

06 X summit:
- roller secondary (reacts much quicker)
- rebuildable shocks
- clear tank (see your fuel level)
- 2.25" lug height (big diff in the POW)
- narrow better seat
- wave brake vs. the solid pig steel the adn has
- a few other things i can not remember
- came with what was once known as the highmark bars and riser (taller and firm)

hatchers, is the 06 x package black only?
Did the x only come in a 151?

I want an 06 pretty bad so if you guys see a clean one with low miles I am on it.

thanks keep it up.

the 06X came in red also. with the economy fallin apart you are going to see some sweet heart deals now. X came in 151 or 159 if i remember correctly. It has the 2.25 track vs the 2.0 track=big difference in deep snow.

I have an 06 Summit X 151 ......

but.... not for sale yet. Here is the comparison page from Skidoo:
http://www.ski-doo.com/SkiDooPublic/_Static/archives/archives_2006/EN-US/Snowmobiles/Summit/The.Basics/Compare.Packages.Display.Specs27c5.htm?Sled=Summit

It was and still is the most refined and best performing sled built by BRP so far. These machines were very good right out of the box and were very easy to increase the performance on without losing reliability. I put an extra 2k into mine and I have enjoyed every dollar of it. 3500 trouble free mtn miles and it is still perfect in every way.

I'll be on my 09 146X this year and our 08 was very nice also but the 06 will remain as a loaner and backup for a few more years to come.

I have 2

I have a black one and a red one... think they are on my profile pix. Both are X 151 and I love them!!! Came from Polaris and have never looked back. These sleds run everytime and I never came off the mtn on the tow rope (knock on wood).

I rode with a couple guys in the Idaho mtns all year (steep and deep all year!) and they were on an 08 800 Dragon and a mod Cat. Besides MOCO beeing a little crazy I stayed with them just fine.

like any sled clutching is key. Mine are done but 2 different shops and both are spot on. A can is a must IMO. Again I have 2 diff kinds but kinda like the HPS better. The black one has a couple other mods but I can't tell you about that here for the crap I would get from the othe 2 amigos (both of them claim to be riding stock sleds as well... ya right!)

I am going to sell my red one this year. I only put about 100 miles on it last year so figure I don't really need the back up sled. Looking to find a good 600 for the girl. The 800 is just too much for her to handle all day. If you are interested shoot me a PM. If any others reading this have a newer 600 and want to trade up to an 06 800 151X , let me know.

BTW, it snowed almost 5" the last 2 days here in Pocatello!!!! It is so on!

the 06 summit X came in black an the other option was a stange looking grey with red panels

The X model is a better model of any size track...but sometimes they goof it up each year, 06 offered every length in either the adn or the X

the newer XP 163 only comes in a X model, its much of a differance as the other years

The only place the sled lacks is clutching. Pick up a clutch kit of your favorite brand, most guys will recommend Dynamo Joe kit. I have an 05 that iv put an 06 X seat on, have 151x16, HPS can, Lexan panels, and floats. This year iv got a mountain tamer skid and ice age rails to play with! Aside from the fact that mine wouldnt hold RPM for @#$@ its an awesome sled. I ride with M's and Dragons, they all do the same in the powder, but you kick *** one the trail over them! Put 2200 HARD miles on mine in about 30 rides with no problems other than clutch related crap, so just clutch it and ride it. (switched too it twice in the middle of the season when my mod cat blew up... twice*)

I sat on an 07 blue summit non x and it was way to wide at the seat. While standing the seat pushed my knees out until my feet wanted to stand wider than the foot wells. Is the x seat that much narrower to avoid this?

thanks again and like I said before, IMGETTINONE

I dont believe the X seats much skinnier, like i said, i replaced the stock 05 seat with an 06 X seat and its lighter and doesnt have the back pouch and seems smaller but im not even sure if its skinnier, i may be wrong though. I just know the seat is lighter, looks a lot better and is shorter

I went from an '02 RMK Edge 151" to an '06 REV Summit X 151". I could ride the He!! out of that RMK but I have to say that there is no comparison to the REV. Floatation, climbing, handling and power are all better on the REV. Especially in the deep.

The center of balance is way different so be prepared to hate it for the first couple of rides but once you get it figured out you'll love it. Bone stock I was blowing over stuff that turned back the RMK and I was not nearly as worn out after the ride.

I have since put a can, 827 kit and DJ clutch kit in it and it flat out rips. I won't be jonesin' for a different sled of any brand for awhile or at least until Ski-Doo comes out with the 800 ETEC XP.

Back to my question about the track.

Do you think that the 151 x15 track on the rmk has the same climbing power as the 144 x 16 on the rev?

They should be comparible espesially with the 2.25 paddles.

Any thoughts?

the 144x16x2.25 will probably do better than the 151x15 just cuz lug high is crucial, it may not always climb quite as high, but they are SO easy to throw around.

The foot print between the two tracks is very comparable but the 151 X 16 will hands down float much better than the 144 X 16 but I think you know that.
I heard somewhere that the best set-up for hillclimbers is a ton of HP and a 144 X 16 (For track speed/spin) but I'm sure folks will dispute that!

The seat on the X is their MXZ seat which is the race seat and is narrower.
My wifes 600 summit has the same seat and I can tell you from hopping off my REV '05 800 Adrenaline, and sitting on hers '06 600 summit SDI there is a noticable difference.
I just now finished adding a Boss seat to mine and THAT'S a narrower seat by far.
Welcome to SkiDoo.
