again all depends on your personal preference if you want a 144 ride it, if you want a 174 your choice also.
I have went from a 580 Arctic Cat 136 challenger track had fun on it, was limited to where I can go and got stuck quite a bit,
next sled, 98 Summit X, got the sled with a 136 never rode it until I changed to a 153 Challenger track off an M series, Wow what a difference I could creep along in the powder stop and take right off again if I was gettin bucked around on a climb and had to slow up to get a handle on the sled could just throttle in a up I would go I loved that length, couldnt do that with the 136 with WOT take off in same snow still got stuck twice as much.
Next sled, (Primary sled now) 04 Rev Summit X 144, didn`t ride it either with stock track swapped before snow flew to a Series 4 159x15x2 1/8 , Wow Wow man this thing with absolutely go anywhere my skills will take me got a good deal on this or Itrack or would of installed another skidoo Challenger style 159 on it, I also like the 15inch wide , but Im goint to be swapping chassis pretty soon when I recieve the Nun for my new chassis that has alot of VE parts on it, D&R, chaincase belly pan protector, Tunnel Ext, Drop brackets. and will eventually install a 163 on it I don`t beleive I am going to sacrifice any handling effects goint to this track it will really only be 2inch longer than what I have now and of course 16inch wide and have 2.5 paddles, a
Anyway personally I have went longer track on everysled I have owned and would never to shorter, I`m sure the 155 will go many places but if I was dropping that kind of cash on a new sled I would not buy a shorter sled I would go 163, its so nice knowing you can stop in powder and take off again and by time you get back to the truck and you not as fatiqued or tired near as much since bigger track usually means less diggin out,
155 or 163 is the topic, to me ONLY 4inchs ? 163 all the way, most put bigger wheels in them anyway that just shortens them up a bit the bigger the wheels. along with all the light weight parts you can buy for all the new and older sleds, so the lighter you go the easier to throw around so if you buy a shorter sled and dump a bunch of cash in light weight parts they why not go bigger track all that weight off it is going to make it easier to handle anyway..
just my 02, I`m 160lbs, 5`10" sometimes have difficulty throwing a sled around but thats me. not the track length had same troubles on my 136 that I do on my 159.. still workin on the downhill to uphill carve turnaround most difficult for me to master, when I was on the shorter track when I would try and not make it and had to go down farther and farther tryin over and over I would be screwed with the 136 down in the hole but with the 159 point and shoot!!!!!!!! hopefully better this year since I have narrowed my frontend my self to 36inch
