155 or 163 Pro?

I put a down payment on a 2011 Pro trade in last Aug. so I could get first pick. I wanted a 163; however, the dealer just got a cherry 155. What is the feeling out there between the two?

If we all start buying 163's I'll have to buy a new trailer and I don't want to do that. I'm also only 160 lbs and like to jump. Easy decision for me.

I'm 210, would that make a difference in the decision?
I would say go with the 163 . I had a hard time choosing just like you. but after talking to my dealer they were saying that 155 was always lifting the skies to high , where as the 163 would stay just a few inches above the snow, also if you going to be doing any mods (im puttin turbo in next year) then ur deffinetly going to want to get a 163. This is just opinions iv heard, Iv yet to actually ride one but picking up in 2 days.

The 2 other guys that just bought new Pros along with me, both out weigh me, and we all got 155's. 2 of the 3 will have turbos on them and I have been thrilled with my 11 Pro turbo.

never had a issue with ski lift last year, and i might weigh 200 with all my gear.

Im 200 and got a 163 and love it. I have never rode a 155 to compare but this thing has no negatives from what I can tell.

I watched 155"s perform just as well as 163's last season in the deep. If you run on alot of well set snow like we do in Nevada the 155's seem to carry an additional 1 to 2 MPH trackspeed up steep pulls. I would go with the 155. I just parked my new Retro 155 in the garage and can't wait for snow. Most the guys I rode with that had pro's last season weighed between 185 and 205.

Same day...same conditions (3 ft of powder)...same sleds (no mods)...side by side on a climb, my 163 will slowly pull away from the 155. We did it several times with the exact same results. Since i love the deep powder, i will choose the 163 every time.

Hope this helps :)

Cheers!

This isnt a fair comparison but my 163 pro would outpull a 2011M8 153 at low elevation, high elevation, on the flat and up hill. Both stock. I also was able to do the same thing against a 2010 summit 146 800R in the same conditions. All sleds stock.

Lets ride

I've always been in the 155" class and have always had a little more track speed. But last year i bought a pro with a 163" track and loved it but the pro is so light i'm sure it helped. Where I see the longer track at the advantage is in the trees in the deep stuff, the longer tracks just floats better. So I guess it all depends on your riding style, don't worry about not being able to throw around the 163" compared to the 155", the pro chassis makes it easy, I promise. I went with a 2012 163" again this year. So I guess it all depends on your riding style. It sounds like everyone is happy with what they got, so its a win win I think. just my .02.
