last winter i had issues with these damn things, i replaced the servo motor and about the only thing left is the ecu, i tied them wide open and it seemed to run pretty good, but what would the right fix be without spending 6-800

if tying them open fixes it then I have a hard time believing it is the ECU. Did you change cables? Are you sure you have the right adjustment? There are 2 different cable lengths. one for 03.5 and newer and one for the earlier sleds.

black dimond extreeme makes block offs!! no more power valve problems and save some weight! sell for about $200

And kills your fuel mileage and your mid-range power. But hey, if all you do is wide open running, you're good to go.

the servo doesnt even move with the cables unhooked, checked adjustments and they both seem to feel free pulling the cables by hand

I am not sure on a 02 800 efi. But I know that on a 04 900 EFI. the servo doesn't do a self check until 7000 rpm. On a carb model it does it every time you start the sled. I dont know why cat did it this way. Kinda stupid to me.

i believe it is something like that on these to, but not 100% sure

You will need to test your wires from the servo plug to the ecu. If you get all the way back to the ecu and still have no power, there's a good chance its bad. Before you buy a different one try to find one to plug in and try, you could also have a line feeding the ecu thats bad. I don't know if the rpm info is sent to the ecu by the tack or trigger feed.
