3568 miles #10. Used as a rental here in Alpine Wyoming. Never been in the shop except for a reflash. Still running the original belt. Elevation 5700-10,500. Riden slow fast and everthing in between. My other three 800's have had trouble. For some reason this is just a good one. I think Polaris should by this one back from me and do some extensive testing to see why this one has made it? I am not convinced the problem is just pistons but a combination of pistons and programming/injectors. There are too many repeat offenders on their second and third motors still having trouble. That tells me its not just a motor problem. I have a feeling that if this sled was tested it would be richer in oil or fuel or something differn't from the norm. It's for sale for $6000, any takers? Polaris should be putting fresh pistons in it for next season. Warranty good until Jan 15, 2010.

I'd be willing to bet that I could grenade it in a single day. I am waiting for a new fuel pickup assembly for my sled and then I'll know for sure if mine is faulty or the design is faulty.

09 D8 163, 450 miles running above 10,000 feet elevation, sled rips, no bogs, hesitation or stumbles ever. Love the sled, just keeping fingers crossed that it stays the same!!!!!

I'm pretty sure there's a 08 in town with 5k plus. Super Dave3 bought it for his wife this year and I believe he put new pistons in it. I'm not sure if it needed it or not.

I pulled the power valves today after experiencing a more significant bog at around 7000 to 7500 RPM. Both pistons are scuffed. Compression is way off in both cylinders. I also have the takeoff pistons that were replaced when the motor was ported. They are also scuffed. Polaris has a major problem with these motors and they have acknowledged it according to the letters from Polaris that have been seen in some of the other threads. I sure hope that they fix this problem once and for all. The Yamaha Nytro is starting to sound better all of the time. They mya be heavier although they seem to be addressing that a little more every year. A Nytro with a turbo or supercharger might be the way to go. The damn things seem to be pretty bulletproof.
