2007 M1000 power valve cable fit 2003 900?

Does anyone know if a Power Valve from a 2007 m1000 will fit in a 2003 1m 900? The cable broke on one of my power valves and a friend said he would give me a good deal on his valves... could I just take the cable off one and put it on the other?

I think they will work, but they are not a direct replacement. The cables on the M1000 are both the same length, on the 900 they are different from one another. Also the bend in the steel tube where it fits into the housing on the valve assembly is different. You might be able to bend it to match and clear the engine. I thought I had an M1000 cable I could put my hands on to compare but can't find it in my pile of stuff.
