Your opinions PLEASE!

the 1100t isnt a trun key and go with no problems. i was just out in the snowys and made it 8 miles before i broke down but hopefully its nothing serious as it was pukeing antifreeze. but i made it farther than my buddies rev haha
Coolant tank, heat exchanger damage, or engine mount crack on the heat exchanger?

You can check the mounts with a flash light and removal of the secondary.

Hey Guys,
I have owned quite a few machines in my time, mostly a pile of disposable polarises to be honest. Last year Gene (Uncle Geno) from WKM talked me into a white M1100 Limited, and offered to take me on my first ever mountain trip. I loved the sled as soon as I got on the trail from the parking lot (just a hindle muffler and Boondocker chip at the time). Always reliable and fun power. My wife was riding our 2012 assault at the time, tried my cat out and loved it, so we got her a 153 1100T set up with pipe and chip and she hated it. 115 pounds, and a very conservative rider, basically the sled rode her instead of the other way around.. lol.
We built her a carbon fiber/SLP 800 2013 limited this year and she's in love, very light, responsive etc. So trips that she doesn't join to the mountains, I take both sleds and put miles on both of them.
I really enjoy tree riding and technical riding this year on the M8 where as last year all I wanted to do was climb (first timer ball testing?!).
Really depends on the kind of riding you want, I can tree ride the crap out of my 1100, but you quickly realize the weight, and especially stop/start in the deep snow tree riding uphill you wear out faster.
We did the evo bc275, lightweighted the sled, track, shocks etc and it's a beast of a machine, but all my buddies ride stock sleds so I'm the 300hp guy riding trails with our group. On those trips, I will ride the pink m8, and enjoy the technical riding, but I'm pretty stoked for Gene to finish his sled so we can lay down some mean boost on the four strokes!!!

Had mine out in the Mountains yesterday!

I'm tired and sore! But I had that thing down some water runs and in tight through the trees too. Lots of sidehilling to get to some good areas. It'll do it... but you need to eat your Wheaties. The fun starts when you need track speed to top those big hills! Right now I wouldn't have any other machine.

it wasnt my tank our undercarrage damage so i took it to the dealer so they could play with it i should know by wednesday what it was

These things suck you in. I have about 25-27 into the 1100 now. Everything EVO makes, full KMOD and Raptors. That carbon chassis and lightweight bits are just calling to me now. This sled 100lbs lighter would just be in another world. Theres a couple banks near my house with crap security...

A big portion of my riding the m1100 wouldn't get a chance to get the track speed it has before I let off as I dive into the next pile of trees. Although there are advantage and different riding aspects that can very well be taken advantage of its a great sled. One of the biggest factors I think is what do your friends ride. If they are on 800's then you will never be in the areas where the m11 will dominate most likely unless you pull away and leave them behind. I'm sure I could still make the m11t work where I ride but so will the 8 and the fun factor is a little higher. Not to take away from big hp fun factor though

Wyo is right. I am pretty careful when I ride the T34 Russian Tank. If it's with guys who want to spend all day in the trees then I leave it home. At some point I hope to be sharp enough to get to 95% of the places we go on the 800s but not yet. Digging an 1100 out is special treat only shared with the most hardy of friends. Above the treeline or on the glaciers it's king. Deep days on moderate terrain it's also a blast.

weight vs reliability

I am in the same boat as you. There is no arguing the fact 4 stroke turbos require way less tuning and stuff once they are set up. Temperature and snow conditions have less effect (In my opinion) than 2 stroke turbos.

Here's what I think. If you have some money to get the 4 stroke lighter, go that route. To lose weight in the sledding world we all know it just takes $$$$$. :flame:

I'm sure many riders can get used to the extra weight, while in motion. My main problem with the four strokes is when you get them stuck. I could always get my m1000's unstuck easily by myself, whereas a four stroke usually involves back breaking work, which will wear you out quicker than riding!! I know nobody wants to admit they get stuck, but the riding you describe, usually gets a guy buried a time or two. Especially if you're exploring new routes and get to a dead end. My opinion...get a light, nimble 800 and smile all day!!
Pro-lite, baby!!

I would say (Being a 1100T owner myself), that these sleds suck real bad when you get stuck. Having said that, I rarely get stuck compared to my old sled, with the same sort of riding.......

Love the 1100T but wish the 2013 /2014 mods were on my 2012. It would be hard to go back to smaller horse power even if it is less weight.Quiet is also really nice!!
