IDAHO HOT SHOT

Well-known member
Until this year I have been a blind Polaris Pro rider. I couldn't imagine any sled handling as well as my beloved Pro 155. With the motor issues coming up, I have decided to look other directions. I was able to spend quite a bit of time on a couple different 800 Proclimbs in various mountain conditions. Before we left the parking lot, they let me take the 1100T out on the rolling hills close by. It had a 240 hp kit on it, who's, I couldn't tell you. I was blow away with the ease of handling and the controllable power. My dealership is going to have a leftover white LE next season. Coming off of the beloved "flickable" Pro, do you guys feel that this would be a good choice for a sled. My riding style is aggressive mountain riding, mostly tree laden hills. I'm NOT a hill banger, chances are, if it doesn't have several obstacles on it, I won't be interested in climbing it. We do a lot of exploratory riding more than anything, finding ourselves in narrow creek bottoms and such. If I were to get this sled, I would probably be putting the 240 ish hp chip in it. Thanks in advance for your opinions/ experiences.

If it tickles you get it but, it's ........

not the right sled for what you want. You might get good at controlling the weight and the power. It's slower to change direction and takes more effort. That being said, I've changed my style to fit my sled and still am happy with the Proclimb 1,100 turbo. I haven't had any belt issues or problems after the updates.

Love my M1100T and had to change my riding style to match it. If you are looking for a "flickable" sled, I would say this is not for you. Why not a 800? I say they are very comparable to the Pro you have, except with a proven motor.

The majority of guys that buy a 4s, and love them, do so because they are looking for reliable turn key hp. Easy and cheap power add ons. The fact that they find them easier to ride then they thought is a bonus. No one buys them because they are easier to ride than a 2s. It will wear you out doing the riding you are doing. Can it be done? Sure. Way more work to do it. Like my 2s turbo riding buddy said for years, I love your sled for an afternoon.

The 800 is what we took to the hills that day. That is probably what I will end up getting. I just wanted to check out the T1100 and see where guys were at with them?

Well put...

I rode with 3 m800 turbos and 1 m1100t and another stocker. 1 m800t went everywhere we did on our stockers. yeah if you point them up they will go but I couldn't see one time I would have even spent a 1000 on a turbo that day. no way would i trade my stocker for a m1100t

Well I wouldn't go that far........

Us guys riding our 1,100 turbos, wouldn't go back to an 800 two stroke either.
It's hard to put a finger on exactly why, but riding the 1,100 turbo is just plane nice. Maybe I'm getting old. When I was younger, nice wouldn't enter into this conversation.

Yes, it is impossible for me to go back to a 2 stroke after having 300+ turn key reliable horsepower that runs spot on all the time. Sometimes I miss having a 2 stroke - usually in set up snow or in spring conditions. In all other conditions, I would take the 1100T.

So I have a pretty slick 1100T. SC 290 kit with basically everything EVO sells. Kmod on the back and Raptors all around, slydog skis. This sled will go places and do more than most everyone even realizes right now. The throttle response is perfect. Engine follows the flipper every time. I have been riding with my 2 stroke crew and I HAVE to go where they do. This last weekend I popped a belt and didn't have a spare so I spent the day ONLY riding the tight trees. I could ride up to a creek with my skis at the point of no return, pin it and the only thing you were waiting on was the track to hook up. So maybe you aren't going to get where the VERY best riders on 2 strokes are going but are you going there now anyway? Remember Chris Brown on his Nytro can ride ANYWHERE a two stroke guy can get and lots more places they can't. And he can ride 130 days a year. Try that on your two stroke turbo. Yes it's heavier, yes it's more work, and yes I still have a two stroke I ride just as much but man is this thing fun.

1100t....
takes more effort but a capable boondocker.

the pilot must be strong and aggressive.

if you are 220lbs and bigger i say this is the perfect sled for you.

will you be tired at end of the day? yes...

this is a mans sled... perfect for big strong dudes!!!!

(shout out to CORN FED!!!!)

but it is so surprisingly nimble...

the best part is the power is incredible and so smooth.

evo 215 flash is money!!!!!

Careful, you almost used the "F" word there,,,,,,, lol

Try it your self

You can't take everyone else's experiences on this sled to decided if it will be right for you. Like wasatchcomm said this is a mans sled and you will be tired at the end of the day but the fun factor is well worth it. Try one the way you ride and I think you will be surprised.

This is a good point^^^
I came off a m1000- and went to a M8 and a pro Polaris800- All I can say is that they are 800's and it is very hard to go backwards.
I must be getting older too cause the guy's I ride with that go 800 and then turbo it do wrench more than us on the T1000- have all the outdated gauges cluttering the dash..and have about 3K more in their sleds than our with 240 hp
Maybe it just me getting older but I DO LIKE THE HEATED SEAT!!

Oh me too!

Love the heated seat, after the days ride it just warms me. I'm no longer interested in the tight tree riding so the 1100T's for me. I like high times comment "can't put a finger on it" I think I can its just the incredible smile the ole girl puts on my face pinning the flipper and hearing that turbo come alive. Yea she's a bigger girl and your buddies will make fun of her from time to time. But as they sit by the trail side or head back early to wrench and wrench, I'll just turn the key and smile. :face-icon-small-hap Some day they will get there too. No 800 for me.

You're funny and right............

I'll bet the 1,100 turbo becomes a cult phenomenon. Things are changing. what if Cat doesn't turbo the Yami engine. I don't want to mess with aftermarket. I think I'll get another 1,100 t, for my wife. wink, wink.

Owen

the 1100t isnt a trun key and go with no problems. i was just out in the snowys and made it 8 miles before i broke down but hopefully its nothing serious as it was pukeing antifreeze. but i made it farther than my buddies rev haha
