your best \father - son/ moment in the snow!

Watching him wonder why there are track marks on his helmet. :)

enjoy it while you can

My son and I ride every weekend there is snow here in the Black Hills, I would not trade it for anything, we each know what the other one is going to do and it is fun to ride with someone you trust and do not have to look back for. At least 2 or 3 times every ride we have to run them off to see who is top dog for the day. He took a friend along once who is new to the sport after we had taken a break the sleds fired and of course my son and I were gone in the blink of an eye and a cloud of fresh powder on one of our drags. Later his friend said to him "where did you guys go ? One second we were sitting there in a line and the next second you guys were gone, out of sight". Good times end too quickly enjoy them when you can. Keep this thread going I could read these all night !

Any time I spent riding with my Dad before he passed away was amazing. Now it's anytime with my two chitlin's. We just hit the mountain tonight for a few hours after work. Will likely head out again tomorrow and/or Thursday. Sledding is truly one of the best ways to spend time with the family.

The one that stands out for me was only a few weekends ago when my dad took me to race in the local drags for a winter carnival. I won after a close few races, and my dad was waiting at the finish line, on cruthces due to a sledding accident, and he jumped out of them as I passed by getting the win. He hobbled over to me after the race and hugged me, congradulating me on the win.

Kinda makes me not want to go away to university next year, and miss all of this!

i guess any time that i am out there in the mountains with him is always a great time.there are just too many memories and stories to list. thanks dad

Best time sledding with the old man was probably our first trip up north when we actually had awesome snow here one year. First time my old man ever said I was nuts. He saw me make my first BIG jump. He turned around to see if I was behind him and I was doing about 80 down the trail and came up to a sweet hill that dropped off really steep and I sailed off the top and it was the coolest feeling ever he had his modular up just laughing at me.

Then we got yelled at by moms for going alittle to fast.

Got my dad out for the first time last weekend. Gotta say it was great to switch roles for once, be the one showing him the ropes, the do's and don't, I wanted him to have a good experience so I put him on the Dragon and rode my 02. Worked perfect said it was like riding a Cadillac around. He was all smiles and was good to just share that sorta experience with him. The best part was teaching him how to carve and trying to get him to counter steer, was a fun time that brought some smiles. I would trade alot of the rides I went on this winter for a ride like the one I had with my dad. Something about watching him try and climb something his first time out, on my 10k sled though was a but gut wrenching, knowing that he prob wouldn't be able to turn out and was going to break something.:D

These pics are from last spring... a few of us dads took the boys out for a rip.... it was my 4 year old first time ever out on the BIG sled.... We rip up the first hill and all I can hear is my son screaming!!! I am thinking Oh no he is afraid :( We get to the top of the hill and I stop. He starts yelling "THAT WAS FUN DADDY CAN WE DO IT AGAIN!!" :D :D :D From that point on he wanted to know why we had to stop! It was my BEST DAY EVER for sure....

The ride home !

That is the best. Nothing like the feeling coming home after a great day on the sleds, with the kids all passed out in the back seat.

My dad and I build all our own sleds together, and I ride with him pretty much every time I go.

He took these pictures:
My brother and myself:

His sled, picture taken from the exact same place as the one above.....

My brother and I both started going with him when we were about 5, then got our own sleds a couple years later. Best riding partner I've ever had, and can still kick my butt in the hills

Hey guys, just a shorttrack flatlander from Ontario here.
This is a vid of my kids having some fun a few weeks ago. I bought a 07 Phazer for my wife and kids to share, but my son just loves his old Bravo to death. He watches all the youtube videos he can find of the mountain riders and then tells me what he wants us to try the next weekend we're at the cottage. Just last night he was asking if a 2" paddle track would fit in the Bravo:confused:
