your best \father - son/ moment in the snow!

Mom & Son moment!

Lots of really great moments I share with my son. He started riding with me when he was 9. He is now going on 14 and its such a great feeling to watch him ride. Makes this mom proud!!!

My son is 13 and we go every time we get a chance. The one thing I have made a point of is letting him know we are never in a hurry to do anything and we will stop anytime.
I am only hoping this point will be returned for me when I have to stop the party because this old man can not keep up anymore.
It will not be long and DAD will not be as cool as he use to be, you have to love to watch them grow up.

Best Day Ever!

These pics are from last spring... a few of us dads took the boys out for a rip.... it was my 4 year old first time ever out on the BIG sled.... We rip up the first hill and all I can hear is my son screaming!!! I am thinking Oh no he is afraid :( We get to the top of the hill and I stop. He starts yelling "THAT WAS FUN DADDY CAN WE DO IT AGAIN!!" :D :D :D From that point on he wanted to know why we had to stop! It was my BEST DAY EVER for sure....

best father son ride

i would have to say by best father son ride is every time we go, my father is 55 and i am 35 he goes with me every ride and if i slow down he just might pass me, snowbile gass $100.00, lunch $ 15.00, blown belts for the day $80.00, snowmobiling with my dad $price less.(trust me you cant have a better best freind in your life then your dad)

Two years ago my dad found out he had cancer. He had never been sledding before, but wanted to spend time with his boys. We rode every chance we got that year, best year of riding I have ever had. He didnt make it to the next season, but I will never forget the one I got with him. I cannot wait to share my passion with my son.

WOW that is really great that you had those good times with your dad. This thread is really what this sport is all about, at least thats what I think.
This just confirms what I've felt all along. I can't wait to bring my kids into this world the same way.

Not Dad/Son but Dad/Daughter. My 10 year old daughter really started to come on strong this year on her 550 Freestyle. Where I used to wait for her, now if I stop she is right there behind me.

***snip***

1.) At beginning of February we were in Hunter's Range - just had snowed 30cm the night before. Flat light - and I am riding cautious because she is behind me. To the point - I stick it about 4 times. Last time, she rides right up beside me, starts pulling her shovel out of her pack and mutters "I can't believe you got stuck again"

LOL.......this is great!! :face-icon-small-hap

There are some wonderful stories, pics, and videos here! I LOVE seeing this! :face-icon-small-coo Keep them coming.

My son Chase is in his 3rd year of riding on his own. I first took him up when he could sit in front of me and hold on to the bar riser. He's loved it from day one. There is nothing better than spending that kind of quality time with your kids.
It's amazing to watch him today. The kid goes everywhere. It's funny because even some of my riding buddies know that whether it's a "guys ride" or a "wife and kids ride" that it's ok if Chase goes. I have to make sure he stays behind me or he takes off faster than I would normally like. It's funny to listen to other guys on the hill when we're sitting around they're like "hey man, watch this kid go, that little sled really works". He'll climb stuff some adults think twice about.
Last summer we built him his own mod sled out of moms old Phazer. IT's his ride, and he 's damn proud of it.
Here's some pics.

And it was started by a Snow Hawk rider, how could it be!

Nice to read the stories.

My best ride with my dad was probally when I had came home from Iraq. I wrecked my sled but it was hillerious and my dad laughed it was in the spring and we were wearing T shirts. I got road/snow rash from sliding on the hard snow.

The best ride with my 4yr old boy was during christmas we were riding behind my parents house in the foothills I let him hit the throttle and was holding on to the bar hooks before I knew it he was full throttling and laughing. He loves it everytime I give him a ride he wants to do it again. For his birthday he wanted sled DVD's and he wears his sledneck hoody everywear. I cant wait to get him on a snoscoot next year and start taking him with me riding. He even talks trash to his uncle about how he is faster lol.

Every time I get a chance to ride with my son is the best, it started with him in the front of me falling asleep his helmet banging aganist the handlebars, hitting the kill switch on climbs, to his first sled a 250 bravo that I had to hook a rope on to pull him up a hill now he runs a modded M1000 ! Hes a great riding partner loves to boondock and ride the same type of areas I do. I have alot of fun riding with him and his buds. We talk sleds all the time, I guess he and I are on the same wavelength sometimes much to the dismay of the little women. Some day I hope he and I along with grandson or grandaughter will be tearing up those hills! I'll be there! That would be awesome, be careful out there !

Hey wait minute I have to blame my Dad (Aka milkman)for this obssesion a motorhead from long ago, motorcycles, minibikes, snowmobiles. 70 and still is always willing to go and I'll tell ya he rides that leafblower, plays and boondocks better than others. Heres to many more rides together!!!!!!

thank you for noticing catwoman. its been good so far,,,, keep it up guys!

No reason to thank me. These kinds of threads are wonderful! :) There is nothing better than being able to share something you really like doing with your kids. It's been awhile since my sons were young and I was taking them out riding with me. When they were ready to move up from riding with Mom, I got '72 & '73 Panthers (both for $500), and it was incredible being out with them (though they scared me at times). I don't get to ride with them much these days, but when I do, it's fun, and it brings back some great memories (as do the stories here).

Edit: Oh yeah, and it was my Dad....a single parent, who got my brothers and myself involved. I can remember arguing every week-end as to whom got to ride on the back of Dad's sled with him (even though we knew it was one of the others turns). Poor guy....I don't think he ever got much riding in by himself with the 3 of us. Now it's us who get to take him out on occasion! :face-icon-small-hap

i read every single post on this thread and only can think of getting my son(10 months)on his own sled some day soon. this is a great sport, weather it be friends riding together, man and wife, familys, or just dad and son. nice to hear alll the great stories keep them up and a grown man might have a wet keyboard!:D That phazer looks bad as s and he should be proud, that alot of time in that machine. hopefully theres scars on his knuckles so he will always remember that moment like his dad. love to see the little ones on the 120 and 125. snow halk was also great. and a quiet ride home means you had the time of your life. THANKS GUYS:D:D:D:D

Kids

That is awesome!!!!

I'm gonna drag my dad kickin an screaming all the way up to Revy and force him to ride until he has a grin connecting his ears together

Ya see, he got me into sledding when he showed up x-mas morning with a brand new Phazer II and Ovation.

We had a freakin blast on those sleds, but after some time the sleds began to need parts and such, he quit sledding and gave me both sleds (I'm refurbishing them for my kiddies atm)

I know he loves to sled, but he feels he's too damm old. At 64 he's in better shape than he'd like to admit lol, he can prolly out walk me up a mountain side.

I'm gonna rent him a Dragon 700 and take him someplace awesome, see if the spark ignites anything in him

WELL, as much as i love to go cut loose with the boys, I still have far more fun with my kids...went thru a bad divorce in 05 and all the toys left...after 3 yrs of hard work..SANTA brought 3 new sleds to the house for x-mas this year...Yes as a single parent it is tough..but the look on the kids faces x-mas morning....PRICELESS.......ERIC.JPG
