You gotta be kidding me.

I think there was some confusion on my part.
The charge was for the limiter adjustment and setting the torsion springs to a higher tension.

i can see that a shop cost for installing NEW torsion springs but adjusting them???? one maybe two clicks with a spark plug wrench and about 5 minutes with a half inch socket and wrench for the straps.....just lit the rear end and get some one to put something under the front of the skid and they are loose!

Shi, PLEASE go read your User's Manual. Those "jobs" that they did are explained in detail on how to do and the tools come with the sled when you buy it. Plus the dealer should have never charged you for that, especially on a sled that you bought from them, IMO that is part of the dealer set up that you had already paid for when you bought the sled.

So it took them 20 minutes instead of 15... you still got hosed. BADLY.

20 minutes? That's a Tech milking the clock. 10 minute job in the parking lot, at the most. It was one bolt and two knobs. He didn't get hosed, he got RAPED!

I was being generous with my time estimate in case the tech dropped the wrench or something :face-icon-small-hap

Actually - name the dealer - they deserve "credit" for doing this to people!

Well this morning I stopped at the dealer to discuss this. They open at 9:00am and I was there at 8:40. At 9:00 I go to the door and it's still locked. I wait until 9:10 and NOBODY OPENS THE DOOR. I go back to my truck and call them on my cellular phone - Directory answers and I leave a message that I'm outside waiting for someone to unlock the door. This takes MAYBE 3 minutes. When I go back to the door there's a handwritten sign that says "Closed today for inventory"!
I'm getting furious!!

Sounds like a real winner of a dealership...

Does this dealer happen to be an arctic cat dealer in northern utah?

I really hope this thread is a joke. A dealer charging ANYTHING to do this is rediculous! This takes literally 2-3 minutes including digging out the tool. We do complete suspension setup for free on any sled that comes into the shop for anything. :face-icon-small-dis

Sound like a bunch of cheese dikks

if ya can't adjust your own rear skid... how do you fix something when it breaks out in the sticks????

No offense intended, just seems odd that anyone would take a sled to a dealer for this.... It's a 15 min job you can do along the trail or even out in the boonies while playin around...

oh and I DO agree that price is ridiculous!

Wow I'd be pissed off! The hardest part of this job is bending down or laying on the ground to do it! Haha. I'd maybe find a new dealer.

I'm all for the dealer. Thats just the price you pay for ignorance!! Plus, why should the dealer do it for free??? If you want Valet Parking, you pay a premium. And life is about choices, if you don't like his price, do the ****ing work yourself!!! And like someone mentioned, maybe the dealer has a flat fee of $100 to start and time charged after that. Anyone had a furnace worked on?? They charge a $100 just to show up!!

A furnace is a tad more complicated than a limiter strap and a couple suspension springs.
