You gotta be kidding me.

Welcome to the world of dealers...

If the job takes them 30 min but the book on it is 2 hours, they'll do it... quick easy money for a mechanic...

I've seen people get charged an hour for a 15 min job... because the book said so... and I've seen mechanics charge for an hour job when it was actually a 7 hour job.

I started doing all my work years ago just for that reason. I can't justify paying a dealer to do something that is relatively simple. Over the years I have become pretty prficit, but it is at times a pain in the A$$ to do it yourself, but you save a bunch of money.

That being said, I can't believe they charged you that much, litterally a 15 minute job even for a novice, if that.

Go and talk to them about it. I don't think it is right. Did you buy your sled from them? If so, I'd think they would have done that for free.

thats outrageous, but why wouldnt you do it yourself? its hard times right now for a lot of dealers.... so things this seem to be happening more and more.

maybe the guy didn't know what he was doing and thought it was more complicated then it really is?

As mentioned, there are some problems with a flat rate system. Though, it works pretty good at standardizing costs.

You cannt' tell us you took it all the way to a dealer just to have them adjust that.

My guess is that you bought the sled from that dealer and just naturally expected him to set it up for you. The price of the job is absolutely nuts and I would never darken his door again, but I would have taken the 5 minutes and did it myself to start with.

heh, well im curious, what do you even have to do to move the limiters up?

And dealer rates are messed up. me n my dad ended up installing a new chain and gears in his ol' sled so we wouldn't have to pay 200$ for dealer to do an hours worth of work.

Anybody think $150.00 is too much for a dealer to charge to move the limiter strap one notch up on my 2010 RMK 800?

I am now offering a limiter strap adjustment how-to video for the low, low price of $99.95, but you need to call now because you know I can't do this all day... 1-800-BENDOVA

That's nothing. My dealer charges $80 to armor-all my track.

How they get to the part up by the front cooler is beyond me...
