Yamaha/Skinz Front Bumpers for Yamaha Nytros

I understand the point of having a cheaper wink link break before the more expensive part but i also want something thats not going to break from mowing over little trees. also don't want something that if it gets a little tweaked i cant get my hood off. That yamaha one might be a good option.

Hey Phil, I understand you don't like the bumper crumpling under pressure but that is it's design. Just like on the hood of your car or truck you have a crumple line on there that folds the hood in half on a front on collision to prevent you from prying the hood out of your face on impact. Trust me on the Timbersled it is no good. I have one on my other Nytro and I barely brushed a tree and it bent the long horizontal bar and pushed it up against the hood. That is the other thing about the TS bumper, the hood does not fit in easily at all with it on there. Just my 2cents.

I agree with you totally. It's all about absorbing the energy. The question is, how much stronger can you make the bumper before it starts tranferring that energy (damage) further. I personally run the stocker.

Still waiting on this new bumper to come off back order.
Might not see it for another 2 months yet.
Yamaha keeps pushing it back on me.

it's probably a little more functional that the OEM bumper was, but mostly this is just something that really looks sweet and helps to tie the whole custom look of the sled together from front to back.

A little carnage struck last weekend.

While out playing my son managed to hit my sled head on, on the right hand side.

His OEM bumper made contact with the Skinz bumper, and the Skinz bumper lost the battle while protecting my front end.

The main tube is pretty much undamaged, but all of the supporting structure is trashed. The impact tore the aluminum supports.

And it crumpled both support arms

But the sled is pretty much completely unhurt.
So all in all the bumper did exactly what it was designed to do!

I cant speak for Chris but my stock bumper crumpled when I came off and it tagged a small tree. Nothing broke but it pushed back into the hood.
