Ya gotta love the republicans

I am not arguing any of the points as they are valid, but what I am arguing is the extrapolations that you guys are making. So they ask a couple of homeless people and they don't want to work therefore a majority of them don't want to work.

Are there lazy people?, yes, are there people that are really trying?, yes, are there people that can't stay sober?, yes, are there people that got dealt a crappy start at life and are just ***ged, yes. There are a lot of different reasons, but saying most just don't want to work seems like a stretch to me. I guess the only real way to know is to be there in that situation. I am not going first.... maybe third.:p

Who said he doesn't count? I just said he is not the norm. Just like Donald Trump is not the norm. Look at this country. The majority of the people are not millionaires, and I would take that one step further and say the majority of people on snowest are not millionaires. Now if there happens to be some people on here that are millionaires, is it correct for them to say, why aren't the rest of the people millionaires too, it can be done.

If you answer agree with the statement "Why aren't the rest of the people millioniares too, it can be done" I would expect you to be a millionaire also.

I like it. Simple thinking. An answer summed up to 1 simple question.

If they have it, why cant we all have it? If things are just handed over like money to welfare recipients or native americans, someone should bring Jessica Alba over to my house so I can have her

like i said, mental illness aside, and the ocassional chitty deal, what other explanation is there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! downturn in the economy in your area, MAYBE, but only maybe!!! my examples of dallas and calgary, that's definitely not the case!!!! other than a physical or mental inability to work, what other reasons can one logically come to!!!!!!!!!!

The way you are phrasing your statement seems like this.

Snowester analogy:
Aside from polaris, arctic cat, and skidoo, yamaha is the only snowmobile that is worth buying.

By exceptioning(sp?) out the other valid options, we are left with only one conclusion which is yours.

I believe I stated that yes, there are homeless people that just don't want to work. So I guess we are arguing whether or not if they (the lazy people) are the majority (of homeless people)?

sounds about right!!!!!!!!!!!! but the snowester analogy is off!!!! i said there are some reasons, but not everyone that is homeless has one of those reasons! but like you said, i guess we're maybe differeing on whether or not it's the majority

Depending on your case you could argue that all homeless people have a mental disorder in that you could only be too lazy to provide yourself with the basic needs in life if it was a mental disorder. Either way it's lazy. In this country and especially if you live in an urban area, if there's a will there's a way to at least lead a moderate existance with a roof over your head and food on your plate. You may have to work hard for it but that's the deal and that's the reason why many are homeless. Not all, but many.

ya see, that is the difference between democrats and republicans.
Democrats will treat all the same. Regardless if they are trying to improve their lives or just lazy azzed worthless people that think the world owns them.

Republicans will help those that want to help themselves and let the ones that don't twist in the wind till they change their attitudes.

I personally am sick of watching the people just pick up their welfare checks and go partying while I bust my but trying to pay all my bills while they tax the chit outta me to pay for the welfare leaches.

Just another extrapolation of a minority being fit to the majority....

You really need to stop drinking the Patchouli oil.:face-icon-small-dis

What about the high rate of Veteran Homelessness? I guess that is all their fault because they are too lazy to get a job right? Couldn't have anything to do with them doing a job for the government and being dumped on the street after their job was done. I guess it would be a handout if we gave a Veteran some mental health help because of PTS disorder. Nope, he is just lazy.

Also, not all homeless are poor. Many homeless simply choose to be homeless, yet they still have a fulltime job and contribute to society.

I encourage anyone that wants to know more about the mind of the homeless to read this book:

and everyone who thinks that osama bin laden is responisble for 9/11 needs to watch all of michael moore's movies

and everyone who thinks slacking off in an office cubicle can get your fired should watch office space

everyone who thinks highway patrolmen are dick heads should watch super troopers

everyone who likes clowns should read stephen king's "IT"

Now why do you insist on bringin up the veterans milehigh? we already established the fact that some mental illnesses are legit. There is no gray area it's black and white. There is right and wrong theres no extenuating circumstances. For example, when you wiped your azz and your finger accidentally poked through the toilet paper that one time, does not mean you lost your virginity therfore you can't consider that as gettin a piece of azz.

Unlike the movies you just listed this book has educational backing. Meaning it actually contains facts about this problem.

Yes there are some that just expect handouts and choose to be a burden, but there are also many that cannot help it.

I bring up veterans because there is an EXTREMELY high number of homeless veterans. If you want to deal with a problem (homelessness) then it might be a good idea to find out what the demographics are.

What else would be legit in YOUR book?

Keep up the stupid @s$ arguments, if you want to drop to the lame name calling and saying stupid $hit well it shows us all how intelligent you really are, or really aren't.

Attention to detail my friend i didn't say i was the one who said it was legit i was clearly stating that the specifics of the mental illness topic were previously discussed.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homelessness_in_the_United_States

As many as 3.5 million people experience homelessness in a given year (1% of the entire U.S. population or 10% of its poor), and about 842,000 people in any given week

80% of those who experience homelessness do so for less than 3 weeks. They typically have more personal, social, or economic resources to draw upon.
10% are homeless for up to two months. They cite lack of available or affordable housing as responsible for the delay.
10% are so called “chronic” and remain without housing for extended periods of time on a frequent basis. They typically struggle with mental illness, substance abuse, or both.

calm down son have a :beer; you get all worked up over petty things such as this.

I agree that the vietnam veterans got a raw deal, but who was/is responsible? I would argue that it was the same people protesting for their return, but it is abstract to me because I was not around yet and have not studied that part of history.

What I do know is my father was of the vietnam generation. He served (never deployed) but I know many of his friends that were in some seriuosly heavy shat. Some have had some problems to work through, but work through them they have to lead happy/productive lives.
