XP800r Quick Disconnect?

I have a XP 154 and was wondering if any one has tried the sway bar quick disconnect system. The XP is easy to pull over but I have notice that when I am boondocking in tight trees it would be better for me to get around if I could get the sled to come over on it's side with less rider imput. At a buck 60 any info would help. I have 450 miles on it and so far one belt!! and the wifes XP146 has 350 miles and no belt problems!!!. XPs has been the best sleds we have riden bar none, as it floats in powder, climbs any and everything I point it at and even the things I dont point it at @ small trees!!! and yes even PINECONES!!!!!!!. Buy the way just want to thank all the great people at STEEL DREAMS for all their help, and I feel bad for all the XP riders that are having troubles as we have two in our camp and the only real problems we have is keeping the smiles from hurting our faces!!!!

Or just take out 1 bolt and try it, probably almost as quick as the disconnect and alot cheaper. Seems they work pretty good for most guys with no bar at all.

Completely remove the sway bar as the aluminum part will hit the a-arm and take off the paint if one side is left disconnected. This will happen even with the quick disconnect kit. It happened to mine so I removed mine, it was a 10 minute job.

sway bar removal

i'm trading this week for a 154 everest. should the bar come out or is it not all that much of a difference. i know on my 04 rev it's night and day. thanks.

By removing the sway bar how will it affect trail riding? Thx

They get a little crazy on the trail without the bar. I put the quick disconnect kit on mine, works good and I can pound the trails harder and you don't roll out on the corners with the bar connected. Be careful when installing if you buy though, I've seen a couple of the bolts break when you're tightening them down... mine included.

I have a 163 XP with the quick disconect kit and love it. Although i find myself riding without the sway bar more than with. On the trail the difference is noticable and as long as i take time to set up before a corner i have no problems. Can still out run anyone in our group XP's and others.

I have the 154 XP X with the quick disconect kit and love it as well. We have to ride the trails to the mountains here and at 250 without gear I find it plows too much in the corners when unhooked. Takes 10 seconds to disconnect and the swaybar folds right down and out of the way.

I just removed the swaybar. The sled handled better in the powder and sidehilling. It didn't do so bad on the trail either.

Just take it out!
