XP vs. XP ??????

So we have not heard a lot about the performance between the 154's and the 163's. Lets hear it ! Was the 163 outclimbing the 154 ? We don't ride with two many 163's except for one and it did no better than the 154's, it was too busy blowing belts. Other experiences ? I guess we have been to busy re-engineering the platform to be bothered with the XP vs XP. ????

Everybody in our group bought the 163", so we haven't had a chance to compare. There's a few used 154"s at the dealer right now, because they traded them in on the 163's. Said they just couldn't go where the longer tracks were going.

i Have a 146 one of my buddies has a 154 and my other buddy has a 163 the 154 will out climb mine by a little ways but the 163 makes us both look stupid it climbs like a mofo but other than outclimbing me the 146 and 154 are alot funner to ride especially when jumping

I'll second that last post. I have a 154 and my riding buddy has a 163, he can out climb the crap out of me, but he's 100 times better rider than me, but still his sled will out pull mine on the hill.

My riding buddy has a 163, it climbs like crazy with no belt problems. Ran across another 163 yesterday that couldn't climb it's way out of a wet paper bag and eats belts like tic-tacs. It's all in the settup!:beer;

Why is it funner to jump a short track?

the longer tracks tend to weelie bad when jumping so you almost always have to grab the brake in the air to level out and the shorter sleds are alot easier to control in the air also the longer tracks have longer slide rails which bend easier you usally bend your slide rails when you land hard on your back end which the longer ones do more often

I don't think there's a whole lot of people out there who bought a 163" track to jump, & try backflips on. That's why they make different size tracks. Each have there advantages & disadvantages. You don't notice the longer track for boondocking, but you definantly notice it when trying to get it in the air.

i have the 163, main riding buddy has the 154,,,roughly equal riders of the same weight....the 163 always climbs higher...and most important will go thru the trees much better cause i can go slower when i need to without trenching out....we trade sleds from time to time, and there are times when the 154 has things which i like, but overall the 163 is the clears winner

Long track climbs better but are a tank to throw around. Anyone who denies this hasn't drove a shorter track sled!!

Cant really agree with you there dude! They weigh the same (within a few pounds). I throw mine around very easy, no difference with the 154 that i can tell, just dont climb as well.

Unless your talking centrifugal enertia..........

Chaz

You notice it a lot more when the snow isn't deep. I do agree that a longer track is easier to ride sometimes as you can go slower through the trees but for carving and turning out a shorter track is easier.
