XP owners-Your driveshaft WILL break

I just dropped my 154X off at my local dealer. He has 4 sleds with broken driveshafts and has guaranteed that they ALL WILL BREAK. I saw the design flaw myself. BRP must have some retards working there. Not a good connection point for the bearing to mate up with the driveshaft. My dealer said if they get close to a 50% failure rate they'll do a recall. So, as a favor to me, I want all of you to put on 200,000 miles tomorrow and break'em. That should get to the 50% number and save me a tow. He also said that if your belt has blown or pulled a string, BRP will trade you for another fine piece of rubber(just like the one you turn in:eek:) Here's to progress:beer;

Interesting info on the driveshafts. Keep us posted. Is this isolated to any particular track length?? Seems like everyone having trouble so far is a 154".

local dealer won't trade for a new belt...... They don't have any. :face-icon-small-sad
No one has any 19 tooth gears either. Was also told changing gears was not under warranty. Said they did a few under warranty and was told not to do any more. :mad:

Where are you located and who is your dealer?

I am suprised that the broken driveshaft issue seems to keep surfacing on the mountain sleds but appears to not be coming up as an issue on the flatlander sleds(Renegade & MXZX's). The reason I say this is because I just checked the BRP parts catalog and they all use the same driveshaft assy.(Summit/Renegade/MXZX). Hmmm.....

A pol. guy here. Honestly feel bad for you guys. Riding season is so short and some of us only take a trip or two to the mountains. We sure don't have time for these shenanigan's!

drivers

I have also noticed that my plastic drivers are showing some pretty big wear.

I searched all over including brp's website and couldn't find any thing matching that number.

I hope it is a new belt and the dealers have it soon. Even better if it works.. :)

I have over 700 miles on my 154 and know of several others with that and no problems. My dealer has had only one axle break so far and it was on a 163 early in the season.
