Thinking of getting '10 XP and putting a Turbo on it! What about the M8?
What are the pros and cons or these sleds!
Turbo owners and gurus please chime in !

that boondocker kit is pretty sweet for the m sleds. It works well with that automatic boost controller. You just jump on it and ride and never worry about elevation and jetting.

haha.. asking this in a doo turbo section.. and honestly, if you dont know the pro's/cons already, your not ready.

asking ? is not a sign of anything it's just nobody has a turbo that I know of
and never seen a good running boosted sled 2 or 4 strokewhere I ride and by the way I currently own '08 and '09 800 summit x's.would like to here from XP
boosted owners, the good and bad.will be riding 0-2500'.

Asking this in the doo forum is going to be a little biased. There are always some that will give you an honest opinion and then there are others. The m8's work awesome and are pretty trouble free. I have only been around one xp and he has been on a rope a time or two. Not to say it won't be awesome but it was his first turbo and he is still learning. He blew it up once. I think it runs decent but it has ruined a bunch of rides. He is getting it figured out but the fun factor is wearing on him. If you are new to this the m8 is the way to go.

The M8 will be the easier road. Alot more setups, and time with them. Just know what you are getting into, talk with guys that have done it and know the potential for problems.

ANY carbed turbo is a labor of love, they are more work to keep running in a good state of tune than an EFI 2 stroke turbo ..Its easier and faster to push a button than to rejet in the field.

carbs turbos are more apt to gurrgle at the wrong moment ..and at the wrong place leaving you gasping in fear..( ask Tonysnoo )

ease of use and quality of rideing hours makes the choice lean heavily towards the cats..

Cost to pleasure ratio,, = EFI ,,, NOT SDI..throttle body EFI> CAT

Gus

Not so biased after all, regardless which forum good question to ask weather you are ready or not. I would have done the same.

xp

:clap2:Sounds like the xp is a much better sled now than it was in 08 when I had mine but the M8 seems to be the one with the most positive reviews under boost. Nice to see honest opinions right here on a Doo thread.

Do yourself a favor and make your first turbo sled EFI. You will spend a lot less time with the hood open. I love my XP, but my turbo sled this year will be an m8.

Both great sleds, but there is simply more turbo technology floating around out there for the M8. There are 4 or 5 great kits and a bunch of guys riding them. You should also consider your builder/dealer and your buddies. Support is a valuable asset in the turbo scene.
