I heard he passed yesterday. He just got that sled and I was speaking with him at length about it.

He wasn't the one on RE. So that makes two in less than a week. God bless his family and friends in this time.:(

That sucks. Not to take away from the seriousness of the situation, but I always feel like I'm on the verge of a heart attack everytime I have to dig me or somebody else out (seriously). Thats why I started working out and losing weight to get in better shape so that this doesn't happen to me....or atleast reduce the risk of it happening to me. 30lbs down so far, hoping for another 15 before I'm done.

Anybody know how old he was and what kind of physical shape he was in? My condolences to his family.

holy crap, I just talked to him a couple days ago, had one of my buddies buy his xp he was selling.

Not sure on age, my buddy guessed about 38-40, and he was about 250+ lbs.

That really sucks, I was looking forward to finally meeting him in person in the next week or two. Unreal how fast things can change.

One of the coolest guys I knew & never met!

Have a good ride on the other side CHOPPER CHUCK!!

Terrible to die so young :( Sorry for you guys that knew him and lost a friend.

My Dad died from a heart attack quite some time ago riding his snowmobile. Condolences to the family and friends.

Chuck was more than just a customer, he became one of my friends. Whenever he came into Power World, he would stay for several hours just to bs with everyone. He was a very likeable person and will be missed alot. The entire Power World staff was shocked and saddened by the news and would like to give condolences to his family. At the very least, we can say he died doing something he loved.

wow, never met him but I saw he was from the Springs. He made lots of Snowest comments and seemed very upbeat.
Condolences and RIP.

If I read everything right he died in the mountains the first day riding his new sled.

I work every dang day, pray for a chance to ride, if I'm lucky it will be a good day of riding that calls me back to heaven instead of a heart attack at my desk or a car wreck on the way home from work.

Rest peacefully Chaz; God bless his family and loved ones.

You are correct. It was his first day riding his new M8. He had just sold his XP and bought the M8.

Why did he sell it? He was so happy with it. His excitement to finally test it in deep snow was huge. He never got the chance.

In the conversations I had with him late last week, he was itching to go with a turbo. The guy had a lot of dirt bike experience and he wanted that unmatched power of a turbo. In my opinion Chuck had a healthy addiction to power. Go read his posts, you will see :) I think he gave up on the Doo due to lack of turbo kits. He would jump back and forth between his doo and Kevins M1000 and he liked both. He liked the power of the 1000 and the way he could put it on one ski easier. He liked his doo on the trail and climbing because it was stable but he was always changing things to make it more like the M1000. I think in the end it came down to the turbo possibility factor and the handling.

And to those who are commenting about his enthusiasm about the sport, you are 100% correct. He was always looking forward to the next ride. He put everything into this sport in the short time he was here.

The night before he died I was talking to him on the phone, he said
"you can't take it with you, might as well have fun playing now!"
At least he had the chance to have that fun!
