WOW......... IS IT OVER?

Dizz, you gotta stop bagging on him. We all know that WC has snow. We know that they got the good graces where the rest of the state has fallen short.
Here is the scoop on RE:
46" base at mid
60" at the Summit
221" total snowfall
3" new since the last snowfall on 3/4/12
Skies are sunny as of right now
The snowpack here is hammered. His point was that the season sucked here, in our backyard. The point is that while the season started late in most places, NW and NC Colorado got missed. The NW part of the US is getting pounded, they have had some sick snow recently whereas we haven't. It's crappy, but waddya do? It's weather you cannot change it. So we made the best of it, I feel very lucky to have gotten the 11 days in that I did. Most of them were pretty good days. Even Utah has fallen short in the snow this season. Phatty was complaining about it the other day. Most people don't have the time or the resources to just pack up and go to North ID, WA, MT or Revy to chase the snow. Crap, even loading up to try and catch the pow at WC is hard. The problem there is being able to coordinate with your riding group to do it. You and your crew are lucky, very lucky to be able to do it. Don't bag on someone who cannot be so lucky to just hop off the couch, load up and go.
And I'm not trying to start a bash fest in anyone's direction so PLEASE don't assume that. It sucks up here, that's a fact. There is natural ground poking through on RE/Buff right now that normally doesn't see sun till late May. The MC lot looks to be in worse shape now than it has been in past Aprils. I'm sure I could go up there and find a couple nice spots to goof off in, but I'd have to ride through some sketchy stuff to get to it. To me, it's not worth it. Put my sled at risk, put myself at risk and the people I ride with at risk? No, I'd rather not. They way we ride and where we ride, the snowpack isn't allowing that. For the average flatlander, I'm sure they would have a blast running trails and playing in meadows. So on that note, be safe and enjoy what is left of the riding season. For us, it's done unless we get a massive helping of snow.

It has been kind of a pathetic season, but the most pathetic part is I have yet to get out. I guess I picked a good season to be busy and unable to ride.

There is still great riding on grand mesa if you can ride well enough to access it and you enjoy riding a steep slope in the trees all day its Awesome!!!! Still find great powder and its never tracked up because most cant ride well enough to enjoy it. We just got snow up there last night and snow coming today and tonight! Im sure it will be a blast on tue.
Im with diz this season isnt over yet for us real die hard riders who live to ride these stupid snowmobiles! I can remember some of our deepest days in the past years taken place in the first week of may! To say the season is over at this point is stupid if you ask me!
If anyone that can ride well wants to come see a very technical riding challange on Grand Mesa with good soft snow to ride in come up and join me! I love the game "Follow the leader" first one stuck loses!

I'm not. Just saying in some areas it's looking very close to the end. that storm was supposed to last until Thursday. I don't know what WC looks like right now, but I live up here and I can say that it's sunny, a trace of snow left from last night and tomorrow looks the same, just warmer. Cameras from Steamboat looking up at the Pass show sun. As a native that has lived in this area for my entire life I have NEVER seen precip as horrific as this. It's going to be one hell of a summer. The snowpack is not substantial enough to fill the lakes, let the rivers rise and hayfields grow. This is not good.

Silverton claiming 14 inchs. Frisco got O inchs! Took the grandkids and women riding yesterday on Spring Creek. Upper access road has a lot of dirt, lower road still has a small spine of snow to ride, will be gone in a week if we don't get snow. All in all it was ok, grandson had a blast on the hills. Washed trailer and PU last week and driving home to Frisco it snowed hard for 20 miles and trashed the wash jobs, and to warm for anything to stick. I've got a lot of grass showing here in Frisco, 3 weeks ago there was 3 or more feet of snow covering those areas. This is one of the quickest melt downs I remember for March in the 41 years we've been here. All in all, if it hadn't snowed like it did in February, we wouldn't have s###. My friends that live in Rabbit Ears village said the last good sledding was 2 weeks ago. Last year it wouldn't quit snowing, right into Fathers Day. What a difference a year makes.

Funny thing is it was directed as a QUESTION hence the ?...... Do i really believe its over everywhere... No. PJ and I know what it looks like up here, i plow snow, i haven't plowed in over a month, its been 50+ degrees. I watched the snow drop 30+inches in a few days.... Problem is some of us have that little thing that pays the bills, keeps diesel in the truck, premium in the sled and we can't drop it and drive 4-5hrs so is it close to over for us? Duh.... We can all be sarcastic and say oh look Noaa this and snow that 
..... Im glad somewhere got something but it wasn't here. OH SNAP We are all riders out for the same thing, Good riding, deep snow and fun with friends so why is everyone an *** about a simple comment on the bad conditions up here. This site is a huge thread bash, what once was a site for sharing info, helping others and sharing vids and pictures is now just a sarcastic thread bash. Give your comment and thoughts without acting like your gods gift to the site, Talk goes about this far................... and thats it.

If you read the posts in this thread its clear who is bashing and attacking people on a personal level.
Not sure what I did to offend you GM...but when others say the snow is good down south you say they have it good...I say something and you begin attacking me?
Sorry the snow sucks up north....good snow is a few hours drive away.

Good news nobody died in Avy for a couple weeks. We can go ride Arizona. More snow to come to the snowies this month.

The real riders know where the real snow is, posers whine about the thread, and whine about the snow they don't have. All these dudes ride 10 to 20 thousand dollars sleds but complain about having to drive 4 to 5 hours for snow. I have friends in other sports that take 10 to 15 hours to get to on the weekends, and they do it every weekend. IF YOUR BACKYARD DOES NOT HAVE SNOW GO FIND IT. IF YOU CAN'T FIND IT START BY WATCHING DIZZ'S VIDEOS. HA HA HA.

Oh yea I rode 2 miles in the mud last week I think I can do one more mud ride! Hay Duke I am pissed that you have cheerleaders and didn't share with me!!! My sled will be running tomorrow and riding Wednesday!! After that it's where the dumps happen!!
