While i was going through my sled last night i noticed I had a hole in my track. There is about a 1 inch horizontal slice infront of the lug, and about an inch and a half slice perpendicular to the lug, and one of the small lugs inside has started to peel away a bit.

My gut tells me change er out, but maybe thats because its a reason to go to a X3 lol. Just looking for confirmation or other opinions before i pull the visa out. haha

Here is a couple pics.

Ive ran MUCH worse before. Back when I rode the Midwest and used studs it was very common to get ripped out studs and that often left a 1" square hole in the track.

Ive sown the "flap" together with Spider Wire (fishing line) and then either torched the frayed threads or sealed the area with some kind of rubber product.

Never had one fail on me. Some made it several more years of riding.

I think yours is pretty minor damage. Eric

Justified!

"But sweetie I had to put the new 3" track on.....you wouldn't want me getting hurt when that old one rips in half...hurling me down the mountain.....would you?!?!?!"

Done.

Haha, had a conversation similar to that last night except it was more like " Would you go flying down the mountain if this one rips apart?" So no worries on the approval part :face-icon-small-ton

First trip is 7 days in revy so I dont really want to have to worry about it in the back of my mind.

That'll last a long time. Have you ever looked at a cmx ported track just for reference

I've always went with the theme "it's easier to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission"! I'd still get the 3". That track will last but it's easier to buy a new track now that the old one has a glitch! I'm thinking of taking the Buck knife to my 2.25" just so I can get a 3"! Haha.
