Worst snow year ever?

76/77 ?!?! Dude you are OLD!! :face-icon-small-ton

Lmao you beat me to it!!!

Racing in Island Park this wknd and that storm that hit you guys missed IP/west jellystone. Wonder where the snow started? Not interested in poopy roads tomorrow after another long day at the track

It will get better... Hopefully sooner than later anyways. In 96 up until January 3rd we had around 2 feet or less of snow pack. From Jan 3 to 31st we had 45" of new snow fall. In 76 it was a lot worse but we only had a few feet up until March. In March 44" fell.

Not holding my breath.
It better be wet and heavy at first to bond to the old snow otherwise slide city.

Wet and heavy won't help the snowpack. I think just about any scenario ends up with most slopes sliding down to the ground through the first couple snow cycles. There is simply too much rotten snow on the ground right now. Fact is once it starts snowing simply stay off any slope that can slide....at least until the snowpack can get a natural avy cycle and some depth to strengthen it.:face-icon-small-win

Yup, doesn't matter if the new snow comes in as gorilla glue, what's out there now has had plenty of time to rot and weaken.

This might be a repeat but check out this video from Jackson. They had a smilar base as we did, over new years they got maybe a foot to 18".

They got 30"+ out of that new years storm cycle. and yes everything up there is sliding. Scary thing is the big slopes HAVENT gone yet, they need a trigger... Not a good situation up there...

Best scenario would be to have the rotten snow we have melt away right before winter decides to come to Utah, as crazy as it sounds. But this year is making up for what we didn't have last year, lack of snow and abundance of avalanches.

By Thursday morning, as much as 10 to 16 inches of snow could be delivered to the mountains.

Guys relax, we have a string of good snow days coming starting today. It may be a bit late... ok 2 months late but i think we will all get to ride this weekend. They are claiming 4 feet in the humps by sunday.

Cheers
