Worst snow year ever?

So I only have lived and sledded here in Utah for 6 years. This is the worst I've seen it. No big storms in the 10 day forcast :face-icon-small-sad I rented a cabin for a month in Timber lakes starting the 20th and I'm losing hope that it will be good by then. Has it been worse?

Not a worse one in my lifetime. Although my dad said 1976/77 was just as bad, and it didn't get any better throughout the year. Beaver mountain didn't open until late February and closed some time in march, I hope it gets better and quick! I've got a new sled sitting in the garage that needs to get some miles. But at this pace, my winter trips may consist of loading up the dirt bike and heading to Moab...

Just glad I haven't dropped the cash to register mine yet. It will happen just don't know when. Kinda like sex, you never know how much you will get or how long it will last.

I have been riding for almost 20 years here in Utah and this is the worst winter I can remember. Sucks so bad! Doesn't look like it is going to get any better anytime soon.. :face-icon-small-sad

I'll meet ya there lol ..

I figured as much, if winter doesn't start I'll be riding the dirt bike around here by the middle of february.

So much for that fancy-schmancy trailer I bought with a heater in it this year, I was riding in a t shirt and a wind breaker at rabbit ears yesterday :( .... on 30" of snow :(

Definitely the worse I have seen. If it doesn't get better soon, I might have to start looking for a part time job to get me through. Anybody hiring? When I get calls for somebody wanting to rent the 600's I ask them if they are willing to just ride the trails. If they tell me no, I tell them to rent somewhere else. Literally every time somebody gets off trail they come back with damage. Maybe I should start letting them get off trail....might be the only way I make any money this year.:face-icon-small-dis

BC

Come up to the BC, Alberta Rockies, We don't have as much as we usually get but its awesome!

Worst winter I have seen for sure. I actually took my Raptor Quad up Mantua and got up to 8400 feet before we had to turn around. Snow was very sugary there too. Then yesterday I went to the dunes. It was a great day. sun was shinning it was about 50 degrees and there was hardley anybody else there. It really does suck that my lsast ride of 2011 and my first ride of 2012 was on my 4 wheeler. Something has got to change.

Doom and gloom hasn't set in yet.

This one isn't as bad as 1996. I had a huge ride with 20 plus guys planned for Jan 10, 1996 for a week. At Christmas we thought about canceling, but Island Park had snow... there was nothing in Utah, not even up high.

On January 3rd it started to snow to snow and snowed every day for 15 straight days and just like that we were immediately caught up on snow pack. At that point the snow was too deep and fluffy and unrideable for a week or more... back when all you had was Simmons paddles on the track.

But its getting close to that bad now. I may have to mow my grass if it keeps this up.

1st year since 1985 that I didn't go snowmobiling on New Years day. I have yet to go riding this year. Just don't have it in me to stay on the trails and I know if I get off I will be replacing parts.

Trails at Cherry Creek were perfection on Friday. It was near 60 and the dirt was glue like. Just trying to be positive. Zeb and I went to Tony's last Monday and it was beyond depressing

You know what the worst part about it is? There is absolutley nothing we can do about it. Besides, hope and pray something changes.

Only one problem with your scenario. The snowpack can catch up, but I can never get a months worth of lost revenue back.:face-icon-small-sad

I for one feel for you. People that rely on the winter for their income are hurt the worst. I have a friend that does cement and last spring he could never get anything done because of how wet the spring was. It was over a month of lost revenue that he had to try to make up the rest of the summer. I sure do hope things turn around soon.

We poured concrete today in Logan, in t-shirts, while lawn care specialist had their leaf blowers and lawn mowers going, and it's January 3... Something about that isn't right..
