Wolf Creek Locals?

sh!t****sh!tf@ck****f@ck my parts are delayed due to a mechanical train failure at UPS.

I'll be gardening and painting my girls toe nails all weekend.

Nothing worse than waiting on parts and missing out on an epic ride. Thank goodness for having a backup sled.

I had other parts not shipped as promised and 500cid hooked me up with some machine work to get my clutch on the 600 in tip top shape.

Just talked to a CDOT driver in Pagosa who helps with avy blasting. He told me not to expect the pass to be open tomorrow and that they were waiting for helicopter help with the blasting. Looks like sunday at the earliest but even then things sure will be dangerous as it is snowing sideways white out blizzard artic tundra here!!!!!!!!!!! over 4 foot of fresh and counting~!!!!!!!!

Friday

:DA friend and I went to the top Wolf Creek today and tried out the new snow. We knew there was going to be a lot of snow but just couldnt wait. Was kinda embarrassing getting stuck so close to the trailer. Its going to be awesome in the next few days.

South Fork Update

Park Creek trail head has been plowed, Thanks Curt :beer;

Tucker is doubtful, probably to deep to ride anyway:D

Willow is not plowed, riders have been parking on private property off the highway. Be sure and ask.

I heard Pinos Creek plowed to the end of black top ( big horse barn ) not much parking there.

Snow is deep everywhere, there calling for 1' to 3' more tonight, snowing here now.

As of now Wolf Creek is open from SF to ski area, who knows tomorrow.

Logger

If I were heading down there I would stick to the Pagosa side trails, down lower. Don't bother with the Del Norte and South Fork trails as I heard that side of the pass didn't get very much. Too much snow at the top and like others said you'll spend the day digging and maybe riding 6 or so miles before throwing your back out. Heard the snow is wet and thick, like Sierra cement from some friends up at the top of the pass today.

Bring your avy gear, as the slopes you don't think would normally would run will probably be suspect. Hopefully the flow comes back up north soon as we need a good dump. Been too long.

Spent the night in South Fork last night, and we had two feet of pow in the parking lot at 1am when we got there and it was snowing all day. Snowboarded Wolfcreek today with 26" in the last 24 hours.

Epic.

Got plans to go the next three days. Like Matt said, if it dumps you wont be heading to the good stuff because the pass will be closed anyways or the parking lot wont be plowed out. And if it is open I do beleive its going to be belts being destroyed not all the powder.:D

Only that xp eats belts :-)

WC Info

I'm heading down to south fork tomorrow to ride on wed. I have only ridden WC a couple times, but both times where in the spring and i started from the lot on top of the pass. Any body have any suggestions where to go or park. I hear that there are much better places to stage from that are closer to South Fork.
Thanks for any help!!

You can pretty much go anywhere to find good DEEP!!! Three of us went to Wolf Creek Pass 1-23-10 to 1-25-10.

It was EPIC!!!! The powder was unbelievable and the locals were fun, friendly and helpful. What a trip!!!

The memories are burned into my mind forever but here is just one of many vids:
