I know that is how the economy is "set-up" in this country. That is why the rich get richer and the poor just end up working harder for nothing.
Give me a freakin break whiner!!
Morally wrong to screw people like that? Are you friggin kidding me?
We are not talking about lifes essentials here. We are talking about a game! We are talking about a NON ESSENTIAL, luxury item!! There are literally millions of toys you can buy your spoiled little brat, instead of a Nintendo Wii.
YOu need: a warm house in the winter, you do not need a Wii
You need: Food for your kids, you do not need a Wii
You need: Healthcare, to get better when you are sick, you do not nee d a Wii
And on and on and on.......
It is just not fair! you meanie!! Well, welcome to the land of free market capitalism PJ!
It is sort of like when a new car comes out that is hot, lets say the new Shelby Mustang that came out recently. Selling these at over list price, the dealers must be taking food out of the mouths of some poor sap who saved up for ten years to buy this car. People want what they want. They will pay what they think they are worth. If they didn't, the dealer would lower the price to what will sell. The Wii is no exception for the moment.
And you A'holes spewing this "KARMA" crap need to get a grip! Karma Shmarma.
It looks as if the Wii's are losing value, what was selling for nearly $500 last Thursday is now selling for under $400
I'm with you Jeff... To the people complaining, it almost sounds if you'd be better off living under a communist regime. Ask Fidel how that's going....
Fidel did quite a bit for his country. Before him Cuba was basically owned by people from the US. The large resorts, hotels and such with the profits going back to America. The local people were being crapped all over, no jobs, in poverty, little to no education system, yet all around them was prosperity that they couldn't get to and they were the locals. When he kicked the U.S. out, the standard of living for Cubans increased dramatically.
It is interesting that the opinion of Castro varies depending upon the generation of people you talk with. The older generations that were alive before Castro came into power liked what he did, while the younger generations only see his methods of trying to stay in power/control. I am not trying to defend him, but he did help the Cubans a lot, then proceeded to go off the deep end.
Just a FWIW
At risk of taking this thread right of the rails, I'll go there. If Cuba is such a wonderful place to live, why are basic personal hygiene products hard to come by and unaffordable to the common person?
Ask Fidel.
Exactly. Why are people dying (literally) trying to get out of there.
On a side note, avsrock and I just picked up a couple at Target...for $249.99.
