winter x games snowmo best trick

hes part of the metal mulisha, hes good at everything that has a motor. They are all bad a at everything they do and not everybody can be apart of the mulisha. Right!! I imagine he got into the best trick because of brian deegan. I seen him in one of the shots after jackson wrecked. Deegan I imagine has a pretty large amount of say in what x games does since hes been doing all of these events over the years.

Seems that he's not too good at sleds or at being a good sportsman. Needs a kick in his face

Yeah, meanwhile back at the hospital Caleb Moore is fighting for his life. And this little twat is pissed because he can't land a trick that takes months of practice after 4 hours of riding a sled.

Is this the same punk *** that threw his chest protector off like a baby?

that reminds me of the tool that said several years ago, something along lines of, "i fear more of not being known than getting hurt". I was thinking of that as i was putting my knee brace on to go sledding. Maybe some of the demographics on snowest might not agree but give it 20 years of doing it , then tell me the same thing..

screening?! really!!?

Exactly how many crazy ***,kamikazee, daredevils do you guys think are out there willing to risk it all for a cheezy gold plated trophy and a lil cash? I'm assuming not a helluva lot! so last thing im doing is calling any of them that have the guts and dertermination to try that stuff on a national stage...no matter what training they've had before, stupidass or punks! IF your willing to try to hang it all out there for a lil glory and fame, then i say thank you x games for the platform to try. I love watching guys like that who have the ability to not listen to reason and just go for it, not very many of us on this planet can do it and thats why a screening process would just be a bad idea!! Tethers on the othef hand......a great idea! ;)

Idk what to think about xgames, the tricks have went about as far as physics will let them go. Shawn white was about handed a gold by the other competitors who couldn't even complete a run, except for a 14 yr old kid.

YES screening. Would you let your kid try it, right here right now?
NO? You just screened him out.

Would ESPN invite him?
NO? They just screened him out.

I think there are a lot of people who would quailfy as crazy kamikaze people who are willing to try it. Doesn't mean they should.

Don't X-Games winners get something like $50k for a gold medal.

I TOTALLY agree with you that those guys are good at what they do and have a big set of clankers, including this kid who sent the sled into the crowd. NOT arguing that.
But that alone SHOULD NOT qualify him for the games, IMO.
ABSOLUTELY NOT.

He couldn't remember where the brake was. He thought he was grabbing for the clutch. He didn't know his equipment well enough to try it on a national stage in front of so many millions of people.

If I was running the X-Games and deciding who gets to compete, I would NOT want someone who only has 4 hours on a 450 pound machine..and to act like he did on my TV show.

He shouldn't be invited based on "have the guts and dertermination to try that stuff on a national stage...no matter what training they've had before, stupidass or punks! IF your willing to try to hang it all out there for a lil glory and fame,".
I don't think that should be the a reason they should be out there.

Analogy..."Hey, Streetbike Tommy, put down your drywall trowel and front flip this street bike into this foam pit...and don't wreck." LOL
We all know how that turned out.

Analogy...should they take some dreamy-eyed contestant on American Idol who has only been singing for 4 hours...let him through to Hollywood and into the finals just because he "likes to sing and he really wants it REALLY bad"?

Or should they let the person through who sings well and has actually proven themselves through the rigourous trial process? They screen them heavily and put them through the ringer before they let them through to finals of that show.

I know...the only downside to my analogy is that some joe schmo can quit their job at the pawn shop and walk in off the street to that show and be a good singer and get through on that show. LOL

Just because someone is great on a dirtbike, doesn't mean they are going to be great on a machine that is twice as heavy...and on snow. IMO, that kid proved that he shouldn't have been allowed to go through and be on the air. Bad showing of judgement, attitude and vested skill (which should be required for that event). No, I'm not saying I'm qualified but I think we can all recognize when someone else is NOT.
IMO...he should have been screened out.

I'm guessing that will probably be standard sooner rather than later, especially after the person that got hurt files a lawsuit.

I would hope that the injured person is unable to pursue any litigation.
We've all seen parts of race cars enter the stands at races.
One assumes a certain level of risk simply by being in attendance at a motorized event. Particularly if you are in "Sniffers Row".

Lawsuits ruin events like this for everyone.
I said it before....in life stuff happens.

It seems like this more of a beat that guy to a pulp thread than about the best trick. It seems like you should be pounding on the people that put on the x games that allowed him to be there. if he didn't belong They shouldn't have let him in.I wonder how this whole thread would have went if he would have made it. I bet completely opposite.

A step in the right direction, but it still doesn't erase the fact that he exhibited very poor judgement and sportsmanship. He has a long ways to come. But a start is a start.

I get where your coming from also. My point though is the X is supposed to stand for extreme, that was the foundation of these games. It was originally intended for a bunch of fringe athletes to showcase there skills and basically show off to there buddies. If we start getting all the rules and qualifications so stricked that daredevils like this don't give it a shot, then the event loses its allure. Got to remember the Moores came from quads and probably would never have made it in with there limited (although more than 4 hrs) career and they have definitely taken the sport up a level. I just don't see a pool of crazies to choose from that are willing to try that stuff. Most guys just ain't wired up like these guys!
That all being said, I'm not liking where this events headed.....had my doubts after Moores didn't win it with a tandem backflip, and now after parsons getting shafted this year I can't help but feel like politics has crept into the x games event. It should be judged by crowd reaction and judged by group of fans. If I want to watch political judged crap I'd watch the Olympics, which is exactly why I don't.
Ps. Not knowing him, I'm givin him a pass on his behavior. Dude had to be so jacked on adrenaline I can understand a little overreaction. :)

You make a good point. I think fans should judge. They can also do away with the old announcers slinging slang like they are a couple of 18 year skaters. More annoying than John Madden.

Yes, politics has ruined the games. I don't even watch the snocross anymore. Get tired of watching Hibbert. That's the same thing as putting Jimmy Johnson up against 20 HS kids in street cars. Quit inviting guys that already have pockets full of gold, olympics or X. The snowboard stuff is boring too. Whose gonna win? Duh, Shaun White. Let X be what it started out as. Up and comers trying to make a name. Then the hardcore competition will come back. Remember matt Buyten of Summer X? He went on his own with no sponsors and a Sharpie number scribbled on his number plates and he cleaned up. Mr no name with hardly any cash in his pocket and now he's big time. And the cool thing is he as real as it gets. Every time he comes to Denver I end up talking to him for an hour. Still down to earth and arrogant is not in his vocabulary.

But I think there has to be a screening process for riders. If they have zero to no experience don't invite them. I happen to know a kid who has handfuls more talent than Strong and he was invited only as an alternate. He got to ride but only because the Moore tragedies.

Shoot if they are going to ask us to pay for the medical bills for these guys then surely we should get to judge.

As soon as any type of fundraiser was started ESPN should have called them all off and agreed to foot the bill.

That makes perfect sense too. If you can't afford to pay, then you shouldn't play.

It's a very sad deal but it's a risk these athletes assume.
