Anyone else watch the sweet tricks being thrown in x games snowmobile best trick? Ive read so many threads with the question "tether or no tether?" Well if you watched the x games there is perfect reason for everyone to put a tether on their sled. They guy tried a crazy flip trick and crashed. His sled uprighted and the throttle stuck, went into the crowd and hurt one specatator. They are lucky lots more people didnt get hurt. I think X games should require everyone to have a tether. And even more reason for those that dont have one to consider it....

Can't wear a tether on some of those tricks. Good idea just not feasible for some stuff.

They said that kid had 4 hours experience on a sled, crashed on his 2nd try also and the throttle also stuck. Maybe some type of remote kill switch is possible. Looked like the commentator lady was very lucky on the runaway, that sled almost run her down. Fencing saved her.

Seems to me that they have things like cut off switchs in the monster truck shows so they can shut the trucks off if they get out of control. Plus they just introduce the Tether-air last year. Glad that nobody was killed. I am truly surprised they allowed something like this to happen. My guess is there is going to be an abrupt rule change in the near future and I also feel a lawsuit coming on.

x3 on the Teth-Air. Teth-Air should contact someone from X-games committee or one of the competitors and show him his wonderful product. Can still do tricks without the cable getting in the way.


EDIT- Didn't catch the best trick so missed the accident. But did watch the sno-x races and was so good to go through an x-games sno-x without hearing Levi this and Levi that and the cameras actually focusing on the race instead of always on Levi like past years. Don't think he raced this year that's why?

Maybe they do require tether switch and were fooled by the rider during tech inspection have heard of setting idol very low and letting go of throttle and pulling tether making it appear it is working. Either way X games dropped the ball.

What a letdown in best trick. XGames should add a hill climb contest. I mean ESPN would love it chance of crashes, you know they eat that up.

yeah i think its pretty lame how espn tries to create a story by having dirt bike riders jump on a snowmobile. why not let them have their summer games and let the snowmobilers have the winter.
agree, that kid seemed like a total punk, especially after he started punching his sled on his second failed attempt.
