Will the 2014 Polaris be as disappointing as the new Cat, Yammi and Doo?

I personally find the 2014's (Cat, Yammi, Doo) to be completely underwhelming. I wonder if Polaris will treat 2014 like it's a throw away year too?

Come on Polaris, find 15 more HP, make a new drive shaft, and redesign the QD and you will own 75% of the 2014 market(mountain).

Here's hoping the Polaris reveal isn't as disappointing as the others!

If I was Polaris I would hold off this year, no one else did anything. another year of R&D and get it perfected, minimize warranty claim for the 14's. and give me another year to ride my '13 without having the need to by a new sled.

That brings up an interesting question. Given that the competition decided to take a year off, and since Polaris hasn't announced anything, would they decide to just shelf any intended big improvements? I hope not!!!!

I'd be happy with the following:

1. Improve QD system and drive shaft.
2. Powder coat the tunnel (and rails - but I can do that myself too).
3. 3/4 year warranty on snowcheck (cat is 2/ski doo is 4).

Otherwise, I'm not expecting much but will be replacing the '12 with a '14 regardless.

I just looked at the new cats, wow are they ever proud, just look at there prices! :jaw:

M 9000 Limited 162
$14,949 USD

i saw the 2014's in togwotee in the beginning of january and i can tell you that they had red powder coated rails :face-icon-small-coo lol and they sounded much throatier than the 2013's

BNG's are expensive! :face-icon-small-ton I hope the new secondary solves the belt problems for the Cat guys though, I have owned a couple belt burners in the past and I now have much sympathy.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the 9000 the rebrand for the 1100 turbo? So, not much price change I think?

9000's are turbo 1100s. Looks like the non-turbo 1100 has been replaced by the Nytro motor on the trail sleds. Smart move on cat's part.

Suspect poo will be all about trail sleds in 14. They own the mtn market now in the rockies, at least by my guessimation of non-rental new sleds seen - about five 13 RMKs per one 13 XM. Despite what doo might be profligating. Think poo is getting crushed pretty hard in the largest and most profitable segments back east, and the indy is their way out. Expect a DI 600, at least, there. We'll see. Fix the 13's, 800 durability and long-term un-bogabilty. And I'll buy a 14.

graphics and better quality control on assembly. nothing big this year. new motor for new epa regulations next year. 2014s will just be solid sleds to buy at reasonable prices for several years to come

2014 or wait?

My guess is. 2015. All new chassis. Direct injection. Under 400 pounds. :juggle:
Just a guess!:face-icon-small-hap

Quick question say Polaris fixed the belt drive system and the axle shaft, do all the '13 owners get free replacements or is that just part of R&D and thanks for buying a '13. Or get there money back on the '13
Honest answers please!

Doubtful...

Can't see Polaris offering free replacements to 2013 owners to make them into 2014 models. If Polaris makes a better, more reliable sled for 2014, then that is incentive for most to ante up & buy a new model...same goes for Cat, Ski-Doo, and Yamaha.

doubtful they'll have a new motor. highly doubtful they'd trade in a used motor for something brand new
