Widening Running Boards on 01 Summit

I built some tubular ones, made them run into where the outer edges meet the trailing arm post and back up with a rear kickup. I made mine out of thin wall steel because I could weld it, but they really only weighed about 3 lbs more....but NO snow buildup and I built mine 7" wide all the way to the back...HUGE improvement!

The guy I ride with here in Lillooet, B.C. bought a set of the Rox running boards for his 01 Summit 800. I helped him install them and they went on with ease - great fit. We did it last year - so he's had a full season on them and they still look like new - no bending or warping. The grip is outstanding and width is almost double what he had near the back. They look exactly like the ones you posted the picture of. He also purchased the extension flare - which really widens things out. They are spendy but worth every penny in our opinion.
Hope this helps.......

X2 on the Rox sledtreadz....added them to my '01 and it made a big difference. not only wider but stiffened the boards as mentioned above.

Rox Sledtreadz are pretty good from what I hear. Thought about getting them myself for my Renegade, but I think I might try to build my own in a few months.

Rox makes both an MXZ and Summit version of the sledtreads. They may be out of the Summit version so they are not listed. Something to contact them about.

the rox running boards are no longer available. they have been discontinued. they say its because the newer sleds are coming with wider boards, that doesnt help the older sleds that we are still building. if you guys find another alternative let me know, im still looking

Just ordered a brand new tunnel from cycle parts nation in michigan skidoo still has the wide board tunnel avaible for our sleds!!! Only cost me 391.00 us dollars plus Freight of 50 bucks that was about 600 or so less than any other aftermarket tunnel companys out there plus it will bolt up no hassleing around like with the aftermartket stuff!!! Hope this hepls
