whyyyyy is snowest so slow lately? (502/504 Gateway Errors)

I've not got any time out errors but I could drink a whole coffee / soda / beer between screen changes today. ARGH!

On a positive note First snow at sea level in Valdez Alaska today! About a foot on the ground and still coming!

thats what i was always gettting on my android phone, but i deleted SW off of my tapatalk list, re-added SW to the list, and then it worked......??????

Cleared the cache and history in my browser settings. Today is the first time I've been able to navigate and post from my PC...

Chrome, both on my PC and on my tablet. Haven't tried the tablet since last week. Will try it later today.

I should have cleared my browser history and cache before when you said you implemented some fixes, but was too busy.

I would recommend you suggest that to anyone still having problems...

Are you using Safari or the TapaTalk App ?

Getting 502 bad gateway every time I try to open a thread on chrome. no issues on safari. but EVERY time on chrome. I can get through all the thread lists/directories, but cant open a single thread.

If we had ANY CLUE why it works on one and not on the other.

We rolled the forum servers over into "Winter Mode" today.
More CPU Cores and a different memory/cache allocation scheme.
That should also speed things up some in response to our normal seasonal load changes.

This is more of a subtle tweak to over all winter performance that we do this time each year.

This was a modification to our servers we made this afternoon.
We have a summer configuration and a winter config.
We just rolled our two servers into winter mode this afternoon.

I have asked Harris repeatedly to resolve the GateWay Error.
It is OUTSIDE of the SnoWest Forum Servers.
I can NOT fix it, only they can.

You could accidentally, yeah that's it, trip over the power to their servers. Hint Hint Wink Wink. Might be worth a collection from the forum members? Then you might be able to afford a real sled.

this is evolving into an odd situation. first a handful of people, myself included, were having problems. (or at least we spoke up about it). now i have not had a lick of trouble for quite a few days, but others are chiming in that didnt say a word before.
