WHY!!!!

I dont get rants like these, i know people need to blow off some steam, but every manufacturer has its problems. Cats are still having issues with belts, although they are getting better and solutions are being found. Polaris has been making their 800's better since about 2011, the 2013 motors are a far cry from the 2008-2010 800's that would last a whole 200 miles.

You just have to pick and choose what you want, cat makes bullet proof motors but the chassis leaves some to be desired, polaris makes a great chassis, but needs improvement in their motor department. Polaris does need to step it up, i was darn ready to jump over to polaris and keep the m7 as a backup, but the way they are handling this whole driveshaft issue bothers the hell out of me.

Red, blue, green, yellow, pick a color they all suck.

None of that has happened to me. Until it does, I'll go with the sled that has the specs, looks, and handling that I like. That's been Polaris so far.

Rob

I've had no less than 6 Polaris sleds in my garage at the same time for the last ten years and I have never experienced any of the issues mentioned at the beginning of this thread. I will stick with my Polaris thank you very much! Love, love, love my sled!

Just poking fun!

I have not experienced any of the problems written here on Snowest with our Pros. (3) And believe me, we are not the best riders!:face-icon-small-con:wine::wine::wine:

Not being a brand Loyal Person. I would just like a truthful answer to this Question. Why after years of blown motors, broken axles, broken suspension bolts, broken drive belts and numerous other Quality Issues do People still buy Polaris Snowmobiles,,,,,,after the third or fourth blown motor...i would run like HE#$ to another more reliable brand. Just asking why!!!!!!:sorry:

Actually, I only had a couple of issues with my Polaris sleds over the years including my 12 ProRMK 155. The only issue with the 12 has been small stumble a few times in the mid range.

Never had broken drive belts, broken axles, broken suspension bolts (this thread is the first time i've heard of it) or any other major component failure.

Issues with my 2012 I had:
Broken driveshaft, this weekend. 2013's aren't the only one with this trouble I guess.
Blew out power valve gasket
Primary spring snapped
Wouldn't idle,
TPS harness lose, bogging

I've never had so many issues with a brand new sled, now I'm sitting with a broken driveshaft. Safe to say I've got a hard time to buy another Polaris. Great sled other then it reliability!

THEY ALL BREAK!!! The last 3 days we've towed out a cat, towed out a ski doo and limped out another cat.
Swear off of polaris and go buy another brand... What are you gonna do when that breaks? Go buy a different brand? Soon you will find yourself with no more options.

Breaking

If any of you guys can build the perfect sled that is light, powerful and NEVER breaks down put me on the top of the list please! I have a perfect Toyota car for sale with the only modification to make it perfect the drivers floor mat changed cough cough happy face!

Post

Kyle019 for a 19 year old you seem to have your thought process's working corectly! Your a guy I want with if there are problems! Not the guy standing there with his thumb up his arse kibitzing the guy for owning X brand sled!!

Read on the forum how many issues with the sleds or talk to the guys on the hills, as far as I'm concerned Polaris is on the bottom of the list. Motor is poor design (rebuilds required at 1200mi), super touchy electronics/bogging/water (Polaris has never been good at this, I knew this before buying), now the 2013's have a crappy design driveshaft, a "touchy" belt drive (user error mostly). I think they're a durable chassis, especially when they're built so light. Don't compare it's durability to a 10yr old heavy sled.

Love the way the sled rides and I soon forget all about the issues on those deep pow days!! :face-icon-small-hap

I'm pretty darn excited right now... My 2011 complete new motor should be in and done today!

I plant to have an awesome 1,000 trouble free miles, then carry a tow rope after that! I bet my riding buds are watching the odometer, they will be staying home sick after she flips 4 digits. :face-icon-small-win

You guy's want to go riding with me?

Strange I have 1500 Miles on mine and runs strong. So everyone that has 1200 miles or more, do not ride your sled.

super touchy electronics/bogging/water (Polaris has never been good at this, I knew this before buying),

Again really, mine does not bog, have you checked into this, maye you need to give Carls or another performance shop a call. And "water", what are referring to?

Read on the forum how many issues with the sleds

It must be true if it is posted on Snowest.

Pretty sure they come up with a fix for this issue.

I understand that you think that every other sled manufacturer has zero issues, but you should take the blinders off.

No issues with mine anymore, fixed it all up with dialelectric grease in every connection and sealed good so not more condensate build up, also referred to as water. Took some chasing, but all fixed now!

It must be true if it is posted on Snowest. You really shouldn't believe anything on the internet... Interesting how there's a 4 week backlog at my closest Polaris dealership... Hmm... Also buddies also have issues with their Pro's.

Pretty sure they come up with a fix for this issue. Yup they put a bandaid fix on it, I'm sure it will be built right for 2014 though.

I understand that you think that every other sled manufacturer has zero issues, but yo should take he blinders off. I agree they all have issues and Polaris has the most.

Ride on :face-icon-small-coo

Boy am I glad we got that all straightened out!

If I have any more problems I am going to post them, then they won't be true and I can keep riding... Might be on to a new "fix kit" there...Can I sell it?
