Why wear body armor?

glad you didnt get hurt ollie!

one thing we all dont realize is a hit like that to the chest from the riser with no vest could stop your heart. especially with the higher risers we are all going to. with a hit even as light as that, your internal organs dont stop moving forward till they hit something or are torn loose inside you. (inertia is a ***** sometimes) yes you could tear your aorta from your heart, or bruise, tear, or otherwise hurt other vital organs you have.

not saying the tek vests/body armor will protect from every hit, but the small ones that could be big with no protection, are handled with little ill effects.

for me it is no different than a beacon, helmet, knee guards. EVERYTIME i get on the sled or bikes, i wear the gear. All the Gear All the Time (agat) is a good philosophy to follow. lets you ride another day and come home to your loved ones.

i too wear the thor force knee guards, they protect from the cheese grater boards we have. and let you use your knees on the skis to right a sled, without hurting you. ski

I use a BWear vest and an NFL style knee brace w/attached knee pad. It was only after a trip into the sled I geared up and got insurance to pay for the brace (cheaper than more MRIs). Hyper extended my "bad" knee and separated ribs. Get the gear before you get hurt!!
