Obviously we are quite a long way from pure socialism, but it seems everything he has done and wants to do involves more regulation, more govt involvement in private business ( they controlled the fait of GM and Chrysler and rewarded the unions in the process), higher taxes on the wealthy, more handouts for those that do not contribute, more "stimulus", appointing FAR left individuals at every opportunity often circumventing the normal vetting process, govt involvement in healthcare (scary to say the least)....all steps in the direction of socialism.
Govt needs to regulate and have some control but as regulations and involvement in our everyday lives grow, at some point more and more people become dependent on these things. At what point do we call it socialism?
I think less is more when it comes to govt involvement. They are proven inefficient. I can stimulate the economy and provide more jobs with my money than the govt can.
