Why do you ride what you ride?

I bought my 07D7 because it fit my height better than the other sleds. I always felt like I was falling over the hood of my 2000 RMK (not a good sled to add more than 2" of riser) and the Arctic Cats in 07 didn't jump out at me. My local dealer has been outstanding so I will continue to be a loyal customer, and they carry both Polaris and Cat.

I ride polaris because I got a good deal on it. I would ride any brand, just tring polaris out right now, thinking about trying the skidoo next. I'm not brand loyal to anything, trucks, cars, atv's, I'll ride/drive whatever seems right at the time. I like trying out different brands with different options.

I have been riding since I was able to walk and I have had every brand of sled. Right now I'm on a M8 and that is after a 5yr gap of no sleds. I rode a friends M1000 while back home visiting and decided I had to have an M. I'm 5'10 165LBS and my M8 feels like it was made for me. I like them all and never bash or brag. In fact I like riding with other brands just to watch them for a day.

well...i ride what i ride because it was all i could afford and i loved the rev chassis. it has taken me a couple of years to get completely comfy with it but i love it and feel like its just another part of my body when i ride it. i am not loyal to any brand right now but i like the feel of the new poo and love how it handles, i havnt not had ANY issues with my rev other than the ones ive caused myself. ill ride what i can afford...and if things pick up next year ill be looking into a D7, D8 or an Xp...havnt ridden the M yet so i dont know if i like it or not yet

I ride my cat because it's nearly paid off and it's all that I really need for how little I end up riding.

Good Dealer

Typically my family chooses our sleds, bikes, wheelers, trucks, or whatever else it may be based on the Dealer. The Ski-doo dealer that we deal with goes above and beyond and is an all around great business. It of course helps that we buy a machine damn near every year.

We also have a polaris ranger since our dealership that we use did not sell side by sides. Our ski-doo dealer recommended this polaris dealer to us. The woman that runs the place is knowledgable, friendly, and takes care of us when we need something done.

I believe all the machines in general are good machines and i enjoy riding anything that i can throw a leg over. but at the end of the day i like to know i can drop off my machine for a service or repair and it be done correctly and at a reasonable rate.

just my .02

Crash!!!

I ride my T-Apex 80% of the time because so many guys claim they can't boon dock with the LW sleds. I consider myself a humble educator of sorts. Oh, I don't do all the educating myself, I take turns with the guys I ride with educating the uneducated one rider at a time. It's really a win, win situation. We give the education for free and it only takes about 15 minutes.

Years of knowledge, large parts inventory (I've has repair shops call me), knowing what it takes to make them run and keep them running without wasting a lot of time experimenting.

It started out as being a broke kid that was able to get financed through BRP and now I just really like the product that BRP puts out. My fits me and I like it. I can ride the other sleds there are just little things about each of them that sway me back to what I ride now.

Last 5 sleds have been Polaris. Currently: '04 800 159 Edge with 5,600 miles.....Better pipe, porting, ski's, shocks, reeds, airbox, etc.........

But, it's the last dance. Broke a piston and towed out last month. Replaced the crank while waiting for parts....Next time it quits, I'll shoot a hole thru the engine, get a ride to my M8 Dealer........Read all the Polaris stories and am jumping ship.......:present: :present: :present:

I ride the D8 Turbo now as I feel it is the best handling chassis out there now, but it is my first Poo in a long time. Last year I had 3 Doos and the AC M1000, kept the wifes Rev, she loves it and the kids freestyle, got rid of the 860 XP but it was a good sled. Just wanted a Turbo sled and Poo was my choice. I would like to go 4 stroke Turbo but am waiting to see if someone comes up with a MTN sled in a reasonable weight class, or build a sled, who knows. I have always contended that all of the sled manufacturers build good sleds you just need to pick the sled that best suits you or your purpose, and get used to the chassis of choice. A good rider can ride any sled well, it is just what you like best, and a good dealer can make or break a season no matter what you ride.

I typically buy what I think is best at the time. I currently own three different brands, and would own the fourth(Poo) if I thought they had something to offer....
Current sled of choice is my AC TM1K.:lips:

I ride an Alpine RX1 and an 01 summit 800 and I want an M8t and a Nytro. The main reason I ride an RX1 is for the nimble chassis .. it makes me feel and look like a pro.

I've never been brand loyal to anything. I become loyal to what works the best at the time. I have owned several Ford, Chevy, and Dodge trucks. At the time, each was about the best out there. Things change, advances are made, same with the sleds. I have only ever owned Cat and Poo. For me the Yammi's are just too heavy, and I can't currently afford boost. The reliability would be awesome though. I can't do Poo right now because they are burning up way way to many engines. I love the IQ raw chassis, just don't want to have to deal with problems, or even take the chance. I couldn't do the Rev because it seems like the motors have issues, broken nuns, and flimsy running boards. I have buddy's who swore by them, but they bought new ones every two years too. Maybe the XP is different, one of my buddies rides one now, on his second year and no problems, his dealer seems supportive. The sled doesn't impress me much for being so revolutionary, but I may try one. I just watched too many ZX's and Rev's broken, I can't do that where we ride. I am on a Cat now because I think the engines are the most reliable, most moddable, and I really like the M chassis. Works for the way we ride, even though I curse it on the trail. Wieght, reliability and fun factor are my top three.

Everything this guy says except insert Ski Doo everywhere you see Cat! :face-icon-small-hap
For awhile now I have wanted nothing but a Rev. I have an XP now and enjoy the hell out of it. BUT if I bought a new one today it would probably be the Cat. Maybe. I don't know....

I'm not brand loyal, I ride what I think is the best at the time and if I can afford it.

Started on AC, then went to Doo for many years, and now back on M1000 now, but I also have a 09XP.

I ride the M1000 and got it because it was a turbo sled, and I LIKE the power.

Never been a fan of Polaris, afraid of their engine problems, and Yammi, well, the wieght factor, but I can see myself owning a turboed nytro if the TM1000 doesn't work out for me.

i ride a gen II poo cause it's been paid for.

would love to upgrade to just about anything.

i bet a large part is being used to a brand if you like to wrench. then your not relearning all sorts of stuff.
