why cant it be general snowmachining?

It is state law to refer to sleds as snowmachines in the 907, don't believe me? The registration sticker says "alaska snowmachine decal"

I always figured that going snowmobiling sounded like a bunch of old men going on a trail ride.

Anyhoo, Alaska being farther north than the lower 48 our terms trump all others so henceforth snowmaching and snowmachines shall be the correct reference used.

*edit* Canadians can do whatever they want

Back when they invented these things it looked like a machine on the snow, so they looked at it and said are you gonna ride that snowmachine. Its like the guys who still wear cowboy hats and boots with the snap button shirts, they just can't let go and realize it's 2007 now, enuff with cowboy dress up.

sooo... what exactly are you saying?

It's called (Sledin)

I am not saying anything but snowmachine is old talk for old people. Thats all. no offense to any cowboys.

So does that make us young guys old?

Snowmachine forever will be the name up here. Whos gonna come up here and tell us that we're wrong? We dont tell you people that your wrong. ;)

I've always called it "Sledding" but the term "Beeling" is starting to catch on too !

I ride a Sled
I am a Sledder
I go sledding
I am not a Snow machiner

How exactly do you Machine snow?
What kind of lathe or mill would it take?
How would you even chuck it up in the tool without crushing it?

Although a few folks sometimes think I'm talking about river fishing from a jet sled.

I look at people weird when i go down to visit in the sates when they say Snowmobile. It takes me a second or two to realize what they are talking about. Then when i say Snowmachine, they look at me weird and takes them a second or two to realize what im saying. LOL.

No, Alaskans do not Snowmobile. sorry.

Snowmachine Vs. Snowmobile will forever be argued! (snowmachine sounds better IMHO)

Most of the time I don't use snowmachine or snowmobile. I usually say I'm going riding... riding my machine... working on my machine. As far as what a dealer is called...
I need to head to the Cat dealer, Anchorage/Suzuki, or Mining and Diving.

Whenever I hear snowmobile i picture an old vintage machine from the 60's(the one with one ski).

go snowmobiling/sledding... buy a new snowmachine/sled (or hawk)...

"what kinda rig do you have?" (refering to a radio setup or vehicle, depending on context)

"cell phone" vs. "mobile phone"

...

haha i told my dad i was goin to get a job at cat and he thought i was reffering to CAT... like heavy equipment, he was like "o youll make a lotta money there" then i told him arctic cat... he said ohh....
even commercials for rental services up here say snowmachines...
but to bite the fact, wisconson should be able to name it, since they by far have the most sleds. thats the onoly fair way to do it, but everybodies gotta regester the sleds. we have 9 sleds in the driveway 2 of em are registerd lol

PS, that one ski machine is the almighty skidoo alpine haha twin track singe ski... it would pull anything

Easy Now!

Hey guys,
Some of you get a little tense, ease up and don't take what I am saying to serious, just bustin a little chops. I reallt don't care how you say it as long as we are all on the mountian, I say lets go ridein or sledin.
