around here in Grand Forks everyone calls it snowcatting. i think it is becuase we are so close to thief river falls but still, i have friends that ride polaris and call it their snowcat.
why do americans call a cigatrette a cigarette and the english or whoever call it a fag? why do we park on driveways and drive on parkways? why do kamikaze pilots wear helmets? Why do they sterilize needles for lethal injections? How exactly does the posi-trac rear end on a plymouth work?
Do you say "I'm going to stop by the snowmobile dealer", or the snowmachine dealer?
Do you say soda or pop! Or do you just call everything a Coke, like they do in Texas?
sorry jaynelson, but i guarantee alaska is farther west then the rest"why cant it be general snowmachining?
Because it's snoWEST...we don't talk like goofy easterners....
mmmmmm MGD, and we had about 6 hours of daylight today thank you!Alot of people in the lower 48, that are over 65 call it snowmachine. I think it all derives from the fact that in the early years there were all sorts of vehicles made to transport you over the snow. I have not seen a snow-machine mag. or dealer anywhere. I just attribute it to the cold, lack of sunlight, and over use of mind altering liquids!
sorry jaynelson, but i guarantee alaska is farther west then the rest
and when you say sledding, everyones like "o thats cute, ur 19 and go sledding in your free time." or" where did ya go and what kinda wax did u use".. that one never gets old
