Why A Pro over a Doo or Cat?

You nailed it. The most stunning turnaround in the history of sleds. From leader to crap to leader again in a single model. Which means, it can go bad again, for anyone...

Yeah... Look at Cat from the M to the PC... I still consider the M the 2nd best Platform out there.

the mountain cornice jumper in me absolutely loved the 12 hcr and the new chassis, flew straighter and landed softer then any other mountain sled i have been on. so far i get a harsh feeling out of my assault but i am not saying anything till i really dial in the suspension and give it a fair shake.

as much as i agree its the most ready for backcountry riding sled made, my opinion is its the best setup for back country TREE riding.

lets face it if the cat gets that motor to the ground in 14, with the 2.6 track i dont see any pros touching it if your above tree line and both giver the onion......

we will see in real world testing here shortly!! my helmet cam will be on! i bought a 14 assault and two of my buddies bought 14 cats. lets the crap talking and racing begin! hahaha i love it

On our 4th 800 Pro. No motor issues

I sometimes ride behind a much younger, better, and lighter cat owner/rider. But I do get tired of the trenching that 2012 800 lead weight creates. And the cat is ALWAYS running out of gas long before anyone else does. Doo I don't know about. I think many will say Cat has the better motor.
My take on it is, if you are a boring stock guy like myself? If your not happy with the Pro RMK, you will never be happy. Gas, oil, pull the rope, pin the throttle, have fun, and don't look back. :face-icon-small-hap

Couldn't agree more with this statement... To me the Pro is an improved M-Series... Lighter and a little narrower... Poo improved on the M-Series and Cat, well, they went a different direction...

Love my Pro. By the time I am done with it, it could bump the 2010 M8 from the top of my list...

cat or doo

Last year I rode a 13 pro rmk 155 800 my brother rode the 13 skidoo 146 800 and my other brother rode a 13 m8 153. (only mod was they all had a can.)

We also weighed all 3 sleds on a hay bale scale (5 lb brake) full of fuel oil spare belt (RTR) I don't have my notes with me but I believe the pro was 515lbs doo was 530lbs and the cat was 540lbs

What I found was all three sleds are really close in the trees but when it came to hill climbs and WOT the cat and doo had the Polaris beat by a bit

My sled for this year was the 14 m8000 ltd
other brother stuck with doo 14 xm800 snocheck
other brother went with 14 m8000

I toed a 14' xM on Friday for about 20 minutes and absolutely loved the motor you can feel it pulls so much harder then the pro. It wasn't as difficult to boondock like the xp's but I still felt it harder then my poo. I think if I spent a while on the xM I could get used to it . But I absolutely love my assault! It's too fun to ride!
