Who's been hassled for overweight in BC?

have you even looked at your ins. papers? i have a 2500 c/c sb duramax and my gvw is 1340 Kgs higher than the net weight, so that leaves 2950 lbs. for cargo. you must have some heavy sleds to barely be able to pack two sleds.
two sleds full of fuel: 1200 lbs
deck: 350 lbs. maybee
so that still leaves 1400 lbs. for fuel, passengers, and gear.

a decent size camper weighs 2000 lbs and thats without water or gear, and they never get hasseled by the scales. rental companies have fleets of c/c s/b 3/4 ton trucks with these campers and no troubles.

Two sleds 1200 lbs maybe he's hauling yamaha's that would put him over weight right there

Just so we're on the same page, I have CCSB Dmax, GVW of 9200#. Same as yours right? I weighed in empty, 100l fuel on, tire iron and a jack under the back seat, 7500#. Mind you, I have a lift and bigger tires, so I might be 200# heavier than you.

9200 - 7500 = 1700#. 2 sleds and deck, =9050# ......well i hope you dont need any gear and your riding buddy is DJAM or you you're overweight.

Don't get me wrong, I think the truck would handle a couple sleds better than a camper, or some big 5er anyday, but them's the rules.

.Most single wheel diesels have a hard time packing 2 sleds because of the weight of the engine.

i dont know what your driving but 2 sleds on the deck of my duramax sure dont slow it down any.

kinda a funny story, my friends uncle was towing a bobcat with bunch of a attachments, scales in golden caught him on his way back to invermere, 8200lbs over weight lol!!! 06 F350 6.0L had a bit of a work out. trailer was the right weight class for the load.

couple of yrs ago a friends 1/2ton 2 sleds on sled deck got pulled over... not sure what tickets he got

I decided against putting a deck on my 1/2 ton f150 and staying with our trailer(until i buy a f350) after advice from some buds that told me that you would probably get away with it but if you got in an accident your vehicle insurance would be void as you are over the weight limit even with air bags

I looked in my glove box and theres a sticker that is specific to each vehicle, it has your VIN on it and tells how much weight you can have in the box for a camper, mine says 1574 lbs, and im sure mine must be one of the lowest cause i have every available option on a c/c s/b dmax. The sticker weight is just for the camper not peeps or fuel.

Upping the GVW is that a BC thing? Never heard of that one before.

M5

I though that was just an alberta thing ? My 2500 dodge was regesterd to pull 16500 now its at 24500 cost a little more at insurance time but thats it , oh and they were very clear that was only good in alberta :face-icon-small-sad
