Who has switched from skidoo xm to Polaris ?

I went from having two different pros and on an xm for this season. Don't regret the switch one bit. I'm way less tired at the end of the day on my doo. Love the power.

X2
same feeling here
just bought a xm
needed little adjustment to get used to it but
i find the xm a better overall ride

It was way more than just driveshafts, it was the belt drivebelt problems, not installed correctly per gates, it was the drivebelt bearings going bad, you had to pack drive belts and tools to change it, not to mention the main belt problems and cranks breaking off and damaging both clutches, it was front ends falling apart. I've seen current model Pros this year not quite make a hill and wheelie over backwards in soft snow and endo only 3 times and the tunnels are bent to **** and sled was totaled. They have compromised far too much on weight and for what to brag about how they side hill and hold a side hill? Cuz the defiantly don't outride or outperform
Ski doo's stock for stock. You Guys should hear how the real Canadian riders talk about Polaris. #1 thing they say is why buy a Polaris they don't keep up and you have to work on them and sure do have to buy a lot of belts.

Drivebelt bearings, eh?

Don't judge us Canadians by this guy.:face-icon-small-con

Polaris break down... reliability???

I just moved over from cat. I bought a 15 163 TD at the end of last year and ordered a 163 axys. I have ridden them all winter....Pull the rope and go. Love them both. No issues what so ever. My 2 Polaris mountain sleds work great in the British Columbia mountains of Canada.

We ride bc/ Montana.. Like to call us the one percenters as we have ridden 30 plus years and try in climb all the ulgys, love steep nearly climbs in the trees, most people look, take video and carry on..

All of our riding groups sleds are modified to climb in mountains with big snow, we all have great backup sleds in the trailer and ussaally swap a day over a weekend to ride them as well

We did have two guys running the pro turbo as back ups a few years back with the 174 three inch, it ran well but seamed the little things added up.. As of now all the group is doo.. And if Poo/cat had something that kicked butt.. We would have it or at least seen it running..

With the G4 coming out again, it just leaves us little hope in swaping to another manufacture when you see what they have currently..

If you are going to talk big then you have to back it up.
Video or it never happened.

Oh wait you put up a video of slow meadow munching.......
Try harder freddy boy.

If you were half as good as you think you are you would be amazing.......
Not just the farmer /average/ overweight/ middle aged couch potato you aspire to be......

He sounds dead on accurate to me. The little things continually add up for everyone for sure is dead on.

Drivebelt bearings, eh?

Meaning that side, jack shaft top bearing goes bad and you are broke down cuz the belt won't grab and got ruined in the process. One day was only waist deep no big deal to ruin days like that. When 2013 pros came out every single day I rode there was 1 or more getting towed back. It was not cool

hmm, my 14 had 1100 miles on it when i sold it, 0 problems what so ever. i sounds like the people you ride around need to learn how to ride

Sold my 11 Pro with 2200 miles. Never blew a belt, never changed a plug. Its funny though, lots of my buddies ride doo's and some go through $1k worth of belts a season. Look at that stupid belt incubator on every xm and I bet all of the foam looks like its growing hair from all the belt fibres...

If your blowing belts on an XM you have clutching issues.

Was thinking about jumping to an Axys this season from my XM. 0% financing? Yes please! But, I'm worried about reliability!

i almost did it too. i rode a buddy's axys this year and liked it. but the name polaris has made for itself in the past 5 years really worries me. that being said.........i just got off the phone with my doo dealer :eyebrows:

Best part of this whole thread is 40 posts about two popular mountain sled platforms and not one single comment about "trail manners".

I'm so proud of you guys right now.

No, really.
