Who crashed north of twenty mile?

varmit..you got sleds ready to ride yet? I here from a little birdy that there is gonna be a big ride one of these days and tim wants you along so he doesnt get lonely...:D

I am seriously looking for a good used M series sled right now but it will not be until after the 1st of the year.. I plan on extending the Crossfire to 144 for my son so we shall see what happens..

I spent all last year on a 136 and hung to some degree so this year I would like to move up to something that will at least get me in some trouble :) '

Just make sure you bring your tool set again. Ya know that little birdie rebuilt his toboggan so that means we will be needing to wrench on it to get it out of the mountains.. :D

I came through right after this happend and we stoped to make sure everyone was ok and I'm glad to see all of you are BUT when you passed us right before the Y we all called it because you wer in a hury I'm not trying to be a jerk but this is a good lesson for all those people that think they need to pass every body if you take your time and drive safe you will make it home with your life and your stuff. I hope this doesn't offend you.

so its your fault they wrecked.. little bit of voodoo:D ..(jk) sh!t happens! as longs as every one walked away and the sleds were able to start up an go.... its all good. no injuries thats all that matters. live to ride another day.

hell, with such premonition you could make a killing in the fortune telling business. i'm not offended but your point in rather invalid. it is really easy to say that after that fact. how many times have you said the same thing and not had the truck go in the ditch. i passed you at the Y this happened a long time after that. i wasn't in a hurry in the slightest, i wasn't even speeding. sure i F'ed up and i'm the dumb as* who's truck looks like sh!t. i never drive faster than i should and i wasn't this time. thinking back, i don't think i should have been driving slower or less aggressively. the only thing i did wrong was miss judge how slick the roads were and took my truck out of four earlier. obviously, that was a pretty big "misjudgment". but like many of us i have driven that road many-a-days on worse roads without incident. it is irrelevant, but this is the first accident or even fender bender i've ever been in, not including going into the ditch when screwing around. first time any damage as ever been done. hell, i just pulled a 26' boat from seward and back the week before, thank god i didn't happen then. don't take me wrong, i'm not saying it couldn't have been prevented. i screwed up and it was no ones fault but my own. but i do appreciate you stopped and making sure we were alright. it really goes to show the genuine concern people can be towards their fellow man at times. gives one a little bit of hope...

thanks for everyone's concern. but we are fine. not a bump or bruise one (excluding the ego). to be honest i've been in and had much worse sled "incidents". hell, i'm not even sore anywhere. one lucky bastage of sure. thanks again.

Will the truck's insurance cover the sleds and trailer?
Just curious because this exact scenario has been on my mind lately since I bought a trailer and will be transporting buddies sleds now.

Good day!

I drove past before the wrecker got there and am glad everyone is ok. Whatever the reason for the accident it's a good day when everyone walks away...the machines and trailer should be covered by insurance based on the trailers/truck.
It might be a good time for everyone to check their coverages.:)

Wow. Glad you guys are ok. Sleds and trucks are replaceable and fixable, but definitely not lives.

I always wonder in the back of my head when I switch out of 4wd for better mileage, if I am going to be kicking myself in the *** a few miles down the road when I'm in the ditch. I think we're all guilty of that sometimes.

Thanks everyone for the comments, we had a lot of sledders stop and check to make sure everyone was OK.

hostile1 I appreciate your stopping, but get off your high horse buddy. We weren't in a hurry and we weren't speeding...we were in 2WD when we should have been in 4.

Having responded to traffic accidents on the slope and in town for many years ... you guys, as you know, dodged a bullet big time. I am sooo grateful all are OK. I am sure you heard about the folks who died in that very same spot earlier in the week when there truck flipped upside down in that shallow lake beside the road and were unable to make it out of the cab.

Thanks for sharing your insight to why it happened ... good lesson for all of us about leaving the truck in four wheel drive for the added traction.

Good to see you guy's without any injuries trucks, trailers & sleds can get restored.

hell, with such premonition you could make a killing in the fortune telling business.

^^^I see your humor is still intact

Damn, i went by there today and could see the marks and broken ice. I am glad to hear you guys are ok.

To answer the question about insurance, according to state farm who i have full cover with on my truck, trailer and sled. Since the trailer and sled can have its own policy(sp), then neither would be covered under the truck insurance. Same thing goes for the trailer insurance. Anything inside the trailer that can have its own policy(sp), (ie. sled) would not be convered under the trailer policy(sp)

Again, glad to hear you guys are alright. I was worried when i went by and saw the broken ice.

How bad did the trailer and sleds end up. i can see the truck has seen better days lol.

:beer;:beer;

Glad everyone is OK! Its a good reality check for all of us!
I've heard of several people hitting the ditch and saying they should have been in 4wd. Just curious what most manufactures say is a safe (mechanical) speed to run in 4wd? I have a 2500 Duramax and I belief the manual says 50 mph (not positive).
