Ok guys I only get one trip a year. Island Park in mid Feb. or Cooke City in early Dec. I know there are a lot of variables, and huge open face climbs aren't really my thing. I have been to both places before just wondering what you guys and gals would do.

That's a tough one???? Both have there high points and are great places to ride. Mid February, equals more time for snow to fall and your in the middle of the season for your "one" trip. If you only go once and end up going in December it's a long winter not to go again.

Would definately do Island Park. Way larger area to ride. Cooke is good, but could be hit or miss on good snow in Dec.

I'd pick the later date. Like fatdog said more time for snow. If your only going to get one trip might as well make it a good one.

Thanks guys thats what I was thinking too. The Island Park trip is usualy cheeper too. Thanks and have a good season.

The Island Park trip is a 4 days the Cooke trip is 3 days of rideing. I live in centraly North Dakota so its kind of a long way to the mts.

I vote for Island Park.

If you're looking for people to ride with who go out more than once a year, let me know. We make the drive 3-4 times a year!

Not enough snow yet in Cooke this year and early Dec is right around the corner.

As for the one trip thing...There is a LOT of us from the midwest that drive much farther and make 6-10 trips a year. Start check around, its not hard to hook up with another group for a trip. 4 people in one truck and gas gets a lot cheaper! Eric
