Which sled should I buy? Nytro, M8, RMK 600

nicely said buddy my nytro on boost is the best sled i ever own and i owned every sled made and a nytro on boost is a very fun sled and with the big gen 2 skis on it make it even better :D

Yeah, it seems like I've owned damn near every sled made too. It gets way too expensive and the wife isn't happy. :D

I have owned two stokes , & went to the nytro .... haven't looked back . the girlfriend had a phazer , jumped on the Tnytro :)... guess what I lost it:mad::mad: Now i'm on a turbo apex with nos & meth:D:D . She;s just an average rider not into the steep & deep:( but likes it wherever she takes it :):). turn the boost off for her & then you have the perfect back up for urself:D:D:. no matter what you decide there all great sleds ....

Tnytro 162x16x2.5, cr tunnel,
Tapex 162x16x2.5 ,cr tunnel, alpine front mount +nos & meth too much

With all due respect, my wife is a very, very average rider and after a few times of riding a Nytro, she has said that she feels more comfortable and confident on it than any sled that she has previously rode. That being said, she has rode a Nytro that had a 40#-50# diet and was set up very well.

All good info, but I don't think I am any closer to a decision. I wish it was as easy as just test driving a car. I think we will be happy with either of the 3. I think I am leaning away from the RMK only because they don't seem to be discounting them as much.

Nytro seems to be the more trouble free bet. Knowing that I may get a bit more use from the snobunje than with the other 2. We both really like the elec. start.

Ski Doo is not an option. I know they can run well, but I don't want to deal with another dealer.

I wonder is the M8 will be a little to high strung for her. I know when she rode my old 900 Cat it always looked like her head was gonna fall off when she nailed it.

if you want to do nothing but repair a sled then grab yourself a m8, mine is nothing but problems and i am not the only one, i would stick with yamaha just for the quality.

Its a done deal. I took my wife to test sit them since I decided they all had their pros & cons. She chose the Nytro, and I feel really good about it. We will ride her stock and if she needs it we will lighten her up. I think the Nytro is definitely the long term solution.

We will pick up the 09 white/silver on Monday. They are putting on the bigger windshield and bellypan @ no charge.

CONGRATS!!!!! Great resources here, so when/if you find a need for some improvements, look around and ask....

Get em to throw in a couple snow bungees and shovels:D If she can ride it will be fine....get a lefty on there also for those slow left hand up hill turns.:)

Ive already got a snobunje. I sense a bit of frustration that I didn't go with the Ski Doo. That was never an option, but even if it was snowbunje's are cheaper than belts, and I've never had a snobunje break.

No frustration at all...I own both....have fun and let us know how she makes out.

I decided to get to know this sled a bit before I turned my wife loose on her. Rode it yesterday in moderate to deep powder in the trees. I was very impressed. It did not feel heavy to me at all. It turns very easy and is a cinch to throw around. It went anywhere we went. Certainly not like the M1000, or the boosted Apex, but it rode right with the 07 M8 that was in the group. Granted he's got about about 60 lbs on me, but I was overly impressed with the sled. This thing is silky smooth.

A couple thing's that may need to be addressed:

The running boards are too wide and long which cause them to drag in the snow, and they could use some snow eliminators.

Even though it felt light, I know it is not. Maybe a lighter skid and/or tunnel in the future. Any suggestions Ez Ryde or Timber? I have the EZ and LCC tunnel on my Apex and love it. Especially the tunnel.

All in all I couldn't be happier with the choice to go with the Nytro. Thanks for all the comments!

Go with the Nytro! With all your Yamaha experience, There should be no question. I wouldn't trust Ski-Doo right now. Polaris is blah. Arctic Cat is no bed of roses. Yamaha is the best choice. If you are worried about weight, go with a Phazer. Either way, you won't go wrong. Can't wait to see what 2010 brings.

I shared your same feelings with the wide floor boards dragging in the snow and causing the track to lose traction prematurely. I found with the addition of the Timbersled Mtn Tamer skid the problem went away because the new skid keeps the track away from the tunnel and down into the snow so much better. 2 birds with one stone...
