I have ran Torco, Polaris blue, VES, Castrol, Arctic cat(both), and AMSOIL. I have never had a burn because of oil or rust. I been running VES lately because I got a pretty good deal on it. Just remember to start your sled over the summer or run a non syn oil before you store it.
In just the last few years... we have gone from a "wet" crankcase on the Polaris sleds... To a completely dry crankcase (except for the oil) . To me, that is something to consider when choosing oils... and this thread is posted in a section of the forum where all the sleds have "dry" crankcases.
Wow, lots of information from the highly educated guys. Thank you. As mentioned in one of the replies, Carl's recommends Redline for their mod sleds. That is good enough for me. I have used it exclusively for a number of years and I have never had a problem and I have 8 gallons of it in the garage plus 1 gallon of Polaris oil thanks to the peace offering from Polaris after the driveshaft SNAFU/FUBAR. The Polaris oil will not be used. I will sell it or give it away. It is probably good oil but I can't stand the smell of the stuff.
