No, we call it a danishbutt... Lift and hydraulic steering. In the hills we lift the last axle, when leaded to 32000 kg we get 26000 kg on the two driveaxles. That way we get around in winter.

ah, cool. thanks for the clarification. I know the tri drives are a b!tch to steer when loaded heavy

Looks cool pedersen. We also have palfinger cranes here in America.
Do you guys use re-capped or re-tread tires on anything?

I've been using re-used tires on the drive axels, due to the fact that I tear them apart before I wear the down.on the trucks that run most on asphalt we use most new tires.

I am at work in Saskatchewan hauling and launching smart pigs in the pipeline.
It's a 2012 Western Star with DD16 600 hp with a Palfinger 42 ton knuckle.
Some of the pigs we are loading are around 26000 lbs

Your 42 ton, looks bigger than my 50 ton... And the lenght... I can't haul a 40 feet container on a standard semi legally.
That truck is cool, do you have to use Ad-blue / urea-mix or egr to keep NOx levels down?

It's a Palfinger 85002,it has a huge lifting capacity.Yup gotta use DEF fluid too.
In some provinces I can't use my trailer because of the 5 axels on the truck and the length.
I do have a portable deck I carry that goes over the fifth wheel.
