Where to stay in Vegas

I've only been there once (Feb. 08) but will be back in a week....Yes, I agree the large hotels with fancy rooms are still just a bed and a $hitter, but I like the convenience, and the crowd isn't a sketchy....However, where we are staying during the day, the lobby is FULL of tourists checking it out, so kinda packed........What is the best game to gamble at that is might be possible to make even $50? I play online poker, but I suck at it so scared to put up the money and lose it....!
