When is it time to get a chest protector?

Get a shockproof/waterproof/freezeproof camera like the Olympus Stylus Tough series. I've taken the bars to my chest with my cam in my front pocket multiple times this season, left the cam out in 5 degree temps whilst I enjoy a , and still always get the shot.

I had one of those Olympus waterproof cameras for a few years. The first year, it worked great! Took it in the ocean and lakes without any issues. The second year I owned it, took it in the water and bam! she went. After doing some digging, Olympus suggests that you send the camera back to them yearly so they can go through it and varify that the seals are still functioning properly.
