When are the carbon fiber canisters for the ABS pack coming out?

Want to shed some more weight off my pack for next season and trying to find out what the status is on these carbon fiber canisters for the ABS Vario packs. Anyone have an ETA on these?

There was info at one time between the weight savings of the regular nitrogen canisters vs the carbon fiber ones. I remember talking with snowbigdeal about it but never got any ETA...

Abs's site is shut down in the accessories dept as well. I was also wondering about this, as I'd like to swap up to a carbon next year also.

The carbon fiber ABS canisters will hopefully be available this fall. The canisters are available now in Europe, but they are not DOT approved for transportation in the United States.

The filled weight of the canisters are approximately:
Steel - 580 grams (1lb 4.5oz)
Carbon - 280grams (9.8oz)


We are still waiting to see when the canisters will be DOT approved. Once we get the final details of the canisters, we will see if we can make a trade-in program work.

Still nothing. ABS is ready, but the United States Department of Transportation is not. Hopefully by next fall??!?!?!?!?!?

Still no ETA. I talked with ABS last week and they are still pending approval from the Department of Transportation. We can all thank our government regulations for the delay.
