Whats the best Summit 600 ho mods?

I am pretty much done modding my sled and am starting on the wife's 05 600 summit and was wondering where is the best place to start (heads, pipe, reeds, ect). It is completely stock now.

Thanks

1st I would add a can.,

I dont know about a pipe but on my 07 the stock one is good enough its not worth the extra $$ on aftermarket.

I dont know about the 05 but my 07 SDI runs great so i didnt do the head job. The sled is soo reliable that I just want to try and get the H.P. to the track as best possible.

I am looking into a Clutch Kit myself..

I had an 05 600, and this is what I did....

1st: Get some better clutcing. Stock left alot of room for improvement.

2nd: If you do alot of backcountry riding where top speed isn't an issue, gear it down. I had 19/47 in mine.

3rd: I had a Cudney head and it added a nice boost in performance.

4th: Start lightening it up.

I would save your money on a pipe......I had a Dynoport and it didn't do much of anything. I ended up selling it and putting the stock pipe back on. A good can will add a nice sound and lose some weight for you.

RKTdrop in kit with head or 738 kit. Check it out on the website. Click on "products" on the top toolbar it will bring up products for doo and cat.

Gear, clutch, and lighten up. It's not an 800, don't pretend it is. If you want hp out of it, buy a 800.

With that being said, my buddy(SLEDJUNKIES) has a Summit 600HO 144" with a few lightweight parts and a 30hp shot. It's one of THE funnest sleds I've ever ridden.

WOW! i agree with reeber :)

He sright, It aint a 800,but! It can rock!! I embarrassed MANY 800's on my wifes 06 600 before we sold it.

IMO, try this .............

* re-gear to 18/43
* HPS can (Only, yer wasting yer $$ on any other)
* Drill the track
* dropthe limiter strap a notch
* Strip the pipe insulation and ceramic coat it.
* ALl the free lightweight mods, Foam,plastic, loosethe rear bumper.
* New primary spring
* New Secondary spring ( and have it tightenend up for quicker backshift ( Or buy a TEAM w/ 52/42-40 & red black spring)
* Hiperfax, and strip out ALLthe bogies
* buy an "Iceage* 2 wheel axle ($55) and run only yer stock wheels

IMO :
* Pipes = WASTE of $$$$$$$$$
* Motor Mods = WASTE of $$$$ (Just buy an 800) ;)

* if ya want more punch, put a 30 shot on it AFTER my above mods;) :P

what kind of clutching do you suggest and gearing? there are a couple of ideas and i am just wondering what will they do. i am not to much into hill climbing but i love getting into the deep powder.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I have HPS cans on both my 800's and love them will have to stop by HPS and pick one up the the 600. I also have a team I run for a while but the helix i have is not quite that steep, will have to experiment. The Rkt kit would be great but i get on for my 800 first cause i just want her to be able to keep up not beat me!! Any suggestions for which primary spring to run?

We just got the stock clutch springs done on my wifes 04 summit 600 and wow what a difference....the thing rips!!!! I hear ya on the not beat me part....ha ha

I have an 05 600 Summit and have done several mods.
Can
Team Secondary
Ported Track
Skid Plate (required)
A-arm gaurds (required)
Multiple minor mods as well, but I can't remember them all.
I am also trying to find an 06x seat or an 07 seat to save some more pounds.
The skid plate has saved the sled more then once and the A-arm guards have kept the odd stick from getting caught going through the arms.
