Whats the best Jacket and Pants for deep powder?

sporting all Klim outer wear this year

so far very happy, I don't need any flashy "LOOK AT MEEE!!" gear

My riding has improved a TON because I'm no longer worn out so fast because of wet soggy heavy gear sapping my energy.

although I do have one small b!tch with my Togowotee bibs, the cuffs ride up on my adrenaline boots and pull the skirt over the top of my boots which lets my pant legs get a ring of wet around the top of my boots....so far no snow has made it into the boot itself though. Yes I know about the shoelace strap and the tightening band with the clip on the back but a lot of hiking in deep snow (walking back to help your buds get unstuck) will push the skirt up the boot and let in snow. Next time I will use my gortex gators from Cabelas, shouldn't have too though with such spendy bibs!

I wish there was a heavy duty velcro cuff I could make tighter around the boot so deep POW don't have so much cuff to push up when you step down

Without a doubt, KLIM is the best........Lot of trial and error from Polaris,FXR and Riders Choice. Klim keeps your butt dry that is worth every penny.

Your bibs should have a snap tab at the bottom of the gaiter that you snap around your boot lace. Love my klim boots and bibs, looking forward to trying out my new E vent jacket gratis from Poo.

I have been wearing the same Klim Pants/bibs for the past Five years and I can not say enough good things about them. As for there Jackets I have not found one that fits right, so I wear a Jacket from Arc'teryx called the Theta that works great.

While Klim gear is excellent quality and proven for dry durability it doesn't hold a candle to HMK 08 Stealth gear for the bold part of your post!

I tried on the new HMK jackets & they seem like they are built for short folks. At least short arm'd folks. The sleeves were way too short for me. The Valdez Klim jacket was perfect sleeve length. I really liked the HMK & wanted it, but not with such short sleeves:face-icon-small-sad

I vote for Klim. But I have not tried the new HMK stuff. I love the wrist gators on my Valdez jacket. I tried a $300 Scott shell this year, it was kinda cold, arms were to short for me and let snow in, I was also scare I was going to rip it. Klim is kinda bulky but I dont have to worry about snagging it on a tree branch when I pulling my buddies revs out. :) Riding styles and conditions really make a huge difference on which gear works best for you. I really think you do pay for what you get and Klim is worth the money.

I ordered a 1 pce suit from SNOSUIT and have been nothing but impressed. So much actually I ordered a two pce set for my teenage boy.
Might be a little heavy weighted for your needs, but in ball deep BC mountain powder I am completely bone dry throughout. Check it out.
Doug

Thought I was sold on a pair on ToBe pants but when I saw the price...sshhhsss only $20 more for Klim.
Sorry Tobe, no gore-tex, no reason to be so spendy.

i have TOBE pants and a jacket and have been really impressed with the stuff i do however like my klim gloves.

p.s the TOBE clothing has goretex in the membrain its just stretched to make the pores slightly bigger for ventilation

Arc'teryx all the way with Gore Tex XCR. Expensive but worth it to say warm and dry, or anything with real Gore tex the imitation stuff doesn't stay dry. Anyone, know of any thin Gore tex gloves?

I am a big fan of The North Face. I have a pair of the ski bibs, and the work jacket. Dry, warm, and extremely light weight. Klim stuff is nice, but I was able to get my bibs, jacket, and a pair of gloves for under 300 at REI.

I mostly wear Reima pants/bibs and jacket, love the ruggedness and although they get wet on the outside, they keep me dry on the inside. I have a Klim Valdez jacket that my company bought me for work, I like it but feel the bottom of the jacket is too short and the pockets are too small ...can't fit a two-way radio/GPS unit in any of the pockets, and my cell phone just barely fits.
I have a pair of the Klim Tog gloves which are Ok, but the warmest/dryest gloves I've ever had are some Yamaha GoreTex/Kevlar gloves that I bought five years ago ...not sure what model they are? The only thing I don't like about the Klim and Yamaha gloves are that they have leather palms, I prefer the rubber palms for better grip.
Wear the Klim GoreTex GTX boots (Radium?) and really like them, but need to wear Pac-boots if it gets well below zero.
I almost never wear anything except a first layer and shell because I get too hot. The best first layer stuff I have ever worn, and now swear by is Maxit, it is used by all the NFL teams and you won't find it in any stores, plus they don't advertise so very few people outside of pro-sports have ever heard of it. I found out about it from a winter survival course I attended a few years back. It's pricey, but well worth it.

I wore the Arctiva pants and bibs last year, Hated them I was always wet. I switched to Klim Bibs and Coat this year. Awesome gear. I have 11 rodes so far this year and I have NEVER been cold or wet. I bought mine in May of this year from a dealer on Snowest. $375.00 for the extreme bibs and the tomohawk Jacket. over 50% off. Be patient and you can find Klim for a great deal

I got a free Polaris eVent jacket with my sled and picked up a pair of bibs as well. I can't vouch for the durability, but they are very warm, wind proof, and water proof. Even when I'm sweating, my clothes stay dry. I really like the snaps instead of velcro on the cuffs. Not to mention, most dealers are blowing out their gear at around 40% off this time of year.

I have to agree completely. I have the sidewinder sv jacket and wear the minuteman bib's both from Arc'teryx. Jacket was 450 and pants were 560. Really expensive but I can wear either all year long here in Alaska. The jacket is just a shell that can be worn summer or winter, the most important thing is layering. I can wear this gear if it is 45 or -45 depending on layering. It may cost a little, but the stuff is handmade with a lifetime warranty. XCR cant be beat by anything that I am aware of. I am the only member of my riding group that is always dry and warm.

I dropped $1000 on the Klim Tugwegee Bib and Parka jacket along with the boots and mid layer jacket. The stuff in unreal. Never wet, not constricting. Stay away from the Klim golves though, they constantly bung up inside. The best gloves for general riding are the Storm Gloves from True North Adventure but the BEST gloves for boondocking, climbing or agreesive riding are the R.U. Outside gloves available only from Western Power Sports through your local dealer. I have 3 pair.

Save your money for gas. I ride in a jacket I found at Shopko for $5 on the clearance rack. Repels water just fine. Been sleddin on some cold days and never once been cold. The key is to dress in layers. (no cotton).
